The Gospel Of The Kingdom Part 3 by Ray Wegner

There is a natural hostility between mankind and God, because our natures are different.
Romans 8:7 " Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: ............
Christ has come to make peace between man and God. Christ born of the flesh, but with God as His Father. Through His shed blood we can have peace with God. Christ dying on the cross is God's master plan for salvation.
Man is in Bondage to sin and the wages of sin is death.
John 8:31-36 " Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. "
Romans 6:23 " For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. "
We are born as enemies of God and part of Satan's Kingdom
Colossians 1:13-14 " Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: "
Ephesians 2:1-5 " And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) "
We can be born into the Kingdom of God
John 3:1-8 " There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. "
Christ came preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom of God
Matthew 4:17 " From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. "
Mark 1:14-15 " Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. "
Christ came to free us from death. We can have eternal life in God's Kingdom through faith in Jesus Christ.
Romans 6:23 " For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. "
We need a new nature - we need the Holy Spirit.
Galatians 5:18-21 " But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told [you] in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. "
Galatians 5:22-26
The New Covenant, which is based upon better promises (Hebrew 9th chapter, note verse 15).
Hebrews 9: 1-15 " But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. "
A Spiritual Nation and Priesthood and no Longer a Physical Nation.
1 Peter 2: 9-10 " But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light: Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. "
The promise is that we can be born into the Kingdom of God. This is now open to all believers of all races and nationalities.
Galatians 3: 26-29 " For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. "
Acts 10: 34-35 " Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him. The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:). "
We are all one through Jesus Christ. At one with God.
Christ has broken down the barriers between men on earth by dying on the cross.
Colossians 3:10-11 " And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all. "
Galatians 3:26-29 " For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. "
Chapter 14 What Christ Accomplished On The Cross ?
Christ defeated sin, death and Satan.
Hebrews 2: 14-15 " Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. "
Romans 6:23 " For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. "
But the final victory over death has not yet happened, for the last enemy that Jesus will destroy is death.
1 Corinthians 15:24-26 " Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. "
Revelation 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. "
Revelation 21:8 " But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. "
We are saved through his life.
Romans 5:8-11 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. "
1 Corinthians 15:13-23 " But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not. For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. "
Christ rose from the dead.
1 Corinthians 15:1-8 " Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. "
Christ is over everyone and everything, except God the Father.
1 Corinthians 15:24-28 " Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all. "
14a) The Blood of Christ
- Justified by his blood (Hebrews 10:1-14)
- Forgiveness of our sins through His blood (Hebrews 9:1-28)
- Christ has purchased the Church with His blood.
- Christ the Lamb of God. We are redeemed by the blood of Christ.
- The Church is to rule with Christ when He returns to reign on the earth.
- We are to have faith in His blood.
Sin lives in our bodies (Romans 7th Chapter note especially Romans 7:18)
Romans 7:18 " For I know that in me that is, in my flesh, dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. "
Galatians 5:19-21 " Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told [you] in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. "
Romans 8:7 " Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. "
Justified by his blood. Forgiveness of our sins through His blood.
Christ has purchased the Church with His blood.
1 Corinthians 7:22-23 " For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord's freeman: likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ's servant. Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men. "
Acts 20:28 " Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. "
Christ the Lamb of God. We are redeemed by the blood of Christ.
Galatians 3:13 " Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: "
1 Peter 1:18-19 " Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: "
We are to have faith in his blood.
1 John 1:1-7 " That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us; That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his
Son cleanseth us from all sin. "
Romans 3:24-25 " Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; "
Colossians1:20 " And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. "
14b) The Resurrection of Jesus
Three days and three nights in the tomb (Matthew 12:38-40) (Jonah 1:17).
Not crucified on Friday (please go to the article on the Sabbath).
The many eye witnesses (Acts 1:1-12) (1 Corinthians 15:1-8) (John 20:26-31).
The disciples were reluctant to believe (Luke 24:1-11 note verse 11) (Mark 16:1-14 note verse 11 & 13).
Christ's resurrection was prophesied (Psalms 16:9-10) ( Acts 2:29-36 note verse 31).
We also can be raised from the dead ( ! Corinthians 15:51-54) ( 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17) .
We are saved through His life (Romans 5:10).
The resurrection is vital. It is a necessity (1 Corinthians 15:12-20).
It was real and could not have been a fake ( 1 Corinthians 15:1-9).
We also can have this hope that we will be raised from the dead when Christ returns (Matthew 24:29-31).
Christ is the first born from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:20-23).
All other believers remain dead until the resurrection (Acts 2:29-36).
We do not go to heaven. Please click on the preceding hyperlink for the proof.
We will be born into the Kingdom of God ( Matthew 25:34) (Romans 8:15-19) (Daniel 7:18).
Children become like their parents and we will be fully born into Gods Kingdom (Revelation 21:7) (Revelation 21:1-3).
Chapter 15 The Body of Christ
Christ was both human and divine (Luke 1:26-38) (John 1:1-14 note verses 1,2,3 and 14) (Galatians 4:1-8 note verse 4) (Isaiah 7:14).
Christ died in the flesh on the cross, and lived a sinless life (John 19:28-37 and 38-42) (Hebrews 5:15) (1 Peter 2:21-25).
He paid the penalty for our sins, which is death (Romans 6:23).
Those who believe in Him can be forgiven of sins and given the gift of eternal life (John 2:14-18) (Matthew 9:1-8) (Romans 5:1-2).
We must symbolically crucify the carnal nature on the cross with Christ (Galatians 2:20) (Romans 6:6-11 note verse 6).
We must have the old carnal mind and nature deadened, and symbolically crucify that nature with Christ. We are to follow the Spirit and not the flesh. (Colossians 2:9-13) (Galatians 5:24)
Christ rose in the Spirit and so also we are to live after the Spirit.
What is the body of Christ ? Go to
We must have the Holy Spirit living in us before being part of the Body of Christ
(Romans 8:5-9 please note verse 9).
We are to deaden the works of our carnal minds, and forsake being motivated by lust, greed, selfishness and so on (Galatians 5:16-21).
Instead we must be motivated and led by the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-26).
We must no longer be slaves of sin such as greed, selfishness, vanity and so on (John 8:30-36).
Instead we have been set free by Christ from bondage to sin. We are free to follow the Spirit and love God and others (Romans 6:12-23).
Because of what Christ has done we can be under God's grace, when we accept His sacrifices for our own sins. God has pardoned us and placed our sins on Christ. (Ephesians 2:1-10)
Christ toke our sins upon himself and willingly died on the Cross (John 12:27) (Matthew 26:36-46, 53-54) (John 10:7-18 please note verses 17 and 18) (John 2:13-22 note verse 19).
Christ is the door which leads us to the Kingdom of God (John 10:7-10).
Christ has defeated Satan and is qualified to rule the earth (1 John 3:8) (Matthew 4:1-11) (Hebrews 2:14-18) (John 12:30-33) (Colossians 2:15) (John 16:11).
Chapter 16 How to Receive the Gift of the Holy Spirit
1 Corinthians 1:29 "That no flesh should glory in his presence. We are saved through grace and this not of ourselves it is the gift of God. "
We are saved through faith. Faith in God and His promises. We are not saved by keeping the Ten Commandments. We are saved through Faith.
- We can't earn our salvation. It is a gift of God. The faith and grace is from God. All we do is to trust God and Christ to save us.
Repent
- repent of our sins (Luke 13:3,5) (Mark 1:14-15) (Matthew 4:17) (Acts 2:37-38)
- repent of following the old carnal mind (Galatians 5:19) (Ephesians 5:1-17)
- symbolically crucify the old carnal nature on the Cross with Christ (Romans 6:6) (Galatians 2:20)
- walk in newness of life (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Believe
- if we disbelieve Christ we are really calling Him a liar.
- we prove our belief by doing what Christ says.
- believe the Gospel.
- believe that God's word is good - He will do what He has promised.
Be Baptized
- total immersion.
- burial in a watery grave, a cleansing ritual.
- persons doing the baptism do it in the name of Christ.
- the ceremony itself does not save you, but is symbolic of what is going on in the heart - in the spirit.
Christ is the one who baptizes a person.
- the person doing it is only doing it in the name of Jesus - it is actually Jesus who baptizes you
- only done after a person is thoroughly prepared.
- one baptism.
- a very important step that needs to be taken very seriously.
- we are to count the cost before we start.
Receive the Gift of the Holy Spirit
- laying on of hands.
- praying that the Holy Spirit might be given.
- Holy Spirit comes from God.
- a person is now a part of the body of Christ.
- no heavenly signs.
- a person feels clean.
- God is now our Father.
17) The Holy Spirit
We now have been given the gift of the Holy Spirit.
This is an added dimension, something outside of ourselves, which has now been placed in us.
We can now have spiritual vision, because the Holy Spirit is within us.
We now can really begin to understand the Spiritual and see things from God's point of view, because we now have the mind of Christ.
The Tabernacle and the Mercy Seat - Christ made it possible for us to have access to the Mercy Seat. All the parts of the physical tabernacle are symbolic of the spiritual.
God lives in the Tabernacle.
A temporary dwelling place.
Now God lives in His people who are the Temple of God.
We are just temporary dwelling places for God.
We don't have any home in this world.
We look for a spiritual home.
The Church is now Gods temple.
Each individual member.
Led by the Spirit of God.
God lives in His temple.
Christ rose in the Spirit and so also we are to live after the Spirit.
We must have the Holy Spirit living in us before we can be a part of the Body of Christ.
We are to resist being motivated by our old carnal minds - by lust, greed, selfishness, hatred, and so on. We are to resist the pulls of the old nature.
Instead we must be motivated and lead by the Holy Spirit.
We must no longer be slaves of sin such as greed, lust, hatred, vanity and so on.
Instead we have been set free by Christ from bondage to sin. We are free to follow the Spirit and to love God and others.
Because of what Christ has done we can be under God's grace, if we accept His sacrifice for our sins. God has pardoned us and placed our sin on Christ.
Christ toke our sins upon Himself and willingly died on the Cross.
Christ is the door which leads us to the Kingdom of God.
Christ has defeated Satan and is qualified to rule the earth.
18A) After Baptism
The Church
God is our Father. We are joined to Christ. Part of the Body of Christ. A spiritual organism - the church. We are now placed in the Church by Christ. Christ lives in and through us. We now grow in Christ's body. Christ cares for us and feeds us and we must grow spiritually. We are merely babies as yet not fully born, but growing in Christ's body. God teaches us and Christ nurtures us so that we can grow up and become more and more like God.
We are now a new creature. Our bodies are dead, because of sin for the wages of sin is death. We symbolically crucified our carnal natures on the cross with Christ. In baptism we symbolize the burial of the old self - the old carnal nature. After baptism and the laying on of hands we have been given the Holy Spirit.
We are now begotten children of God. Our bodies will die, but we now have the seed of eternal life, because of the life giving Holy Spirit.
Our bodies are of the earth. We naturally are concerned about the things of the earth and our carnal minds think only along those lines. This is only normal. However, we cannot live forever in this state. We get old and die. The body is subject to corruption. It will rot and decay after death.
After baptism we are new creatures. All things are new. We walk in newness of life. We walk in the Spirit. We are now spiritual creations. Now our whole perspective and outlook is changed.
We no longer have any home in this world. We are God's children and God is a Spirit. Our real home now is in God's Kingdom and we are just strangers and pilgrims on this earth.
The carnal nature died symbolically (the human nature does not go away after baptism, but we are to resist its downward pull and work to overcome it with the help of God and the Holy Spirit). We died, our bodies died symbolically with Christ on the cross. We no longer live in the flesh, but in the spirit. No longer led and motivated by the carnal mind but rather led and motivated by God's Holy Spirit.
All things are new. Everyone dies, but now we have this hope of the resurrection and the opportunity to live for all eternity in God's Kingdom. It is this hope of the resurrection that keeps us going on. Hope that is seen is not hope, but God has promised to give us eternal life in his Kingdom.
Sin lives in our bodies because our old natures are naturally sinful. The body symbolically died on the cross. Now just as Christ rose from the dead and is now Spirit so also we are to come up out of the watery grave and live after the Spirit.
Now our guide is the Holy Spirit. We are to follow the lead of the Holy Spirit. Christ is our everything and everyone. We are now joined to Christ. We are no longer subject to the law, but are subject to Christ. We are now free from bondage to sin. We have been set free from death by Christ. We are free, but not free to live as we please. We are free to follow the law of liberty. That law is that we should love God and love our brothers and sisters.
The spiritual is now first in our lives. We are now a part of God's Kingdom. We are begotten children of God and God is a Spirit. So we must grow spiritually. We are now translated into the Kingdom of Christ from Satan's Kingdom.
We are dead in the flesh, but alive in the Spirit. No longer to be motivated by lust, greed, selfishness and concerned about striving for status and power in the world. These are all concerns of the flesh. We are now Spiritual creations and we are now to be motivated by love toward God and toward others. God is love and we are now to relate to the world in a loving way (the human nature does not go away all at once after baptism, but we are to work with the help of the Holy Spirit to put down the works of the carnal mind and instead follow the lead of God's Spirit).
18 B) We Are Not Perfect Yet
The newly begotten child of God is going to make a lot of mistakes.
We still are going to sin and still have many bad habits.
Making mistakes and still sinning does not mean we are not true children of God.
Children need to grow up and we are God's children and we need to grow up spiritually, but children stumble and fall and bang their heads and we will do the same. However, our Father in heaven will help us and teach us. Christ will not forsake us and we will begin to grow up spiritually.
Babes in Christ
Babies need milk and are not ready for strong meat.
A baby Christian needs milk and is not ready for strong meat.
The spiritual life is still small and weak and there is much carnality still within these newly begotten children.
- the child must grow and if we are not growing spiritually then we are dying.
- there has to be spiritual progress at overcoming these things.
- there is no reverse - we cannot go back at this stage
- if we forsake Christ then we are lost.
- there has to be progress however gradual and slow.
Salvation and conversion is a process. It does not happen all at once. Also our understanding of the scriptures is not perfect. So we must have a repentant attitude and be willing to confess error.
Some faults are very different to overcome and may be with us for many, many years.
Some of them may or perhaps will never be completely overcome in this physical life.
It is a lifelong process.
18C) Satan and his World
As if we didn't have enough problems we find that now that we are on God's side we have inherited God's enemies.
Satan is displeased because we are being trained to enter into God's Kingdom and this displeases him and his fallen angels on this earth.
So we are in a battle with Satan and his followers and this is a spiritual struggle (Ephesians 6:11-17).
Satan is this evil spirit, the evil prince of this world.
He works through the children of disobedience.
Christ has won the victory over Satan and overcome the world.
How does Satan work ? Provocations, very provoking, seduce, deceive, tempt us and so on.
If we are not vigilant Satan can gain foothold by taking advantage of our weaknesses. For example we may get angry easily. So Satan will work at that weak spot and try to get us angry and cause us to sin.
We need strength from God and Christ to overcome and endure.
God will protect us and not allow temptations to come upon us which are to big for us.
Temptations are opportunities for us to show God how well we are doing. They are opportunities to exercise our faith and so we can grow spiritually by overcoming temptations.
Do not go around looking for temptations.
Try to stay away from the evil pleasures of this world.
This is a very serious struggle.
It is a matter of our spiritual salvation.
It is a life and death struggle.
18D) Newly Converted are Easily Offended - Their Hearts are Very Tender
Conversion and baptism are very traumatic events in a person's life.
Having experienced such a dramatic change in one's whole perspective leaves us very vulnerable.
Baptism is one of the most important events in your life. Your whole eternity is at stake and it is so important to do it right.
A person is going to give it all they have and do everything possible to make sure what they are doing is right. They will pray and study the Bible, because they don't want to make serious mistakes.
The newly converted person is still a babe in Christ and has much to learn.
However, God looks at a person's heart, and their motives and intentions.
We must not offend any of these little ones who believe in Christ so that they loose their faith in Christ. Do not offend them.
Let us not judge one another (other Christians), but judge this rather, that no man put a stumbling block on an occasion to fall in his brother's way.
Some people have come to believe for example that our salvations are dependant upon us not eating any unclean meat. So after baptism they will continue to believe this. Now if you as a Christian would invite them to your home and serve them some pork chops, and eat some in front of them they may easily become offended, because they believe their eternity is a stake. They may see you eat the pork and so feel that since you are a Christian they can also eat some. However inside the person feels it just isn't right.
This is the same thing if someone may begin to question whether some newly baptized person is truly converted, this questioning can very easily offend the baby Christian.
Circumcision is an example, and how Paul had problems with some who were saying that people had to be circumcised to be saved.
Romans 14: explained
Some believers have come to believe that they must keep certain days as special days such as Saturday, Sunday or the Annual Holy Days such as the Passover, Pentecost or Feast of Tabernacles. They believe that if they did not observe them they would be lost. While others do not keep any days as special days, because they say that God is the lord of every day.
Colossians 2:16-17 " Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of a holyday, or of the new moon, or of the Sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. "
Interpretation These Christians were admonished not to allow outsiders and unbelievers judge them and consider them wrong if they eat only clean meats or do not drink anything dedicated to idols or keep the annual Holy Days or the Sabbath.
It is up to the Church to judge these matters and to set the doctrine.
1 Peter 5:2 " Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind. "
Interpretation The Sabbath- the Weekly Sabbath (Saturday) is a day set aside by God to be used by God to be used by his servants to feed the Church. On that day they are to be instructed in God's way and be fed spiritual food.
The Annual Sabbaths are also for the same purposes.
Romans 14:1 "Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations."
Interpretation If someone wants to join your group and they believe in Christ and understands all about how we are to crucify the carnal nature and follow the lead of the Holy Spirit and live by faith then they should be received.
They may only understand the basics and not know anything about Holy Days or clean and unclean meats or the Sabbath. Nevertheless they should be received and no one should start disputing and arguing with them to keep this day or not.
Many people do not understand this, and so they should be given time to absorb anything new. Don't try to force things upon such people and declare them lost if they are weak in the faith. This may offend them and even cause them to lose their faith in Christ.
If you insist certain people must keep or follow certain practices you put a lot of pressure on them.
My example with the Passover may be of use to you here.
The Worldwide Church of God used to go through this foot washing ceremony. They taught it was a command. I did not understand this and was very sensitive and felt that if I were to give in and accept that doctrine then I would be compelled to keep this ceremony and all the Holy Days perfectly for the rest of my life. Failure to do so would result in eternal death. So I was offended and was weak.
Mark 9:42 " And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea. "
Luke 17:1 " Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come! "
18 E ) Offending Brethren
1 Corinthians 5:9-13 " I wrote unto you in a epistle not to company with fornicators:
" Yet not altogether will the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortionists, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.
" But now I have written unto you not to keep company if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no one to eat.
" For what I have to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?
" But those that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from yourselves that wicked person. "
It is a very serious matter if a one brethren causes another brethren to be offended. This means that one brethren may cause another brethren to sin by what he does or says or teaches. One is led into sin by another offending brother or sister.
The Church is in the position to judge those who are within and to remove them from fellowship or Church services
The problem is that if we keep company with brethren who are blatant sinners, their behavior may cause us to lose our faith in Christ. We cannot get away from sinners in the world. However we must avoid being in contact with those who say they are Christians, but who are blatant sinners. However, there are no spiritually perfect Christians.
In the Church, if there is a dispute between believers then there should be chosen men from the church to judge these matters. Business deals which go bad. Also moral problems such as someone living common law , or maybe a brother and sister involved in fornication or adultery. If an offended brother complains about such things then what should be done is that a number of people (brethren) should be assembled to act as judges, and they can hear the case and get both sides of the story and judge the case.
This is the best way to handle internal disputes. If someone is offended then there should be a system established to deal with offending brethren.
The judges chosen must be honest, sober, God fearing men or women.
They should not have to go to the civil courts if at all possible. Only when it involved the police or some criminal action, which only can be dealt with through the legal system.
18F) Attitude Toward Those Outside Of The Church- Give None Offense
1 Corinthians 10:32 " Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the Church of God. "
2 Corinthians 6:3 " Giving no offence in anything, that the ministry be not blamed: "
Interpretation The Jews believe and worship God in a certain way. We are not to go up to them and say " look here you Jews you are doing this all wrong. Your religion is all wrong. " This would offend them.
The Gentiles may also worship God in a certain way, which we may believe is certainly not right. We must not offend them by saying their religion is all wrong and they are completely wrong.
Also the Church of God - some people have different ideas and feel they are right. You may know better, but we should not offend them and start tearing up their beliefs.
Beyond Religion
Romans 13:6-7 " For this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour. "
Offend - different definitions of the word.
Biblical - to cause to fall into sinful ways.
Children of God must try to live at peace with all men and not offend others, if possible.
18G) Bearing Fruits
The parable of the talents refers to spiritual fruits and spiritual talents not the physical, or monetary (Matthew 25:14-30). Spiritual fruits like love, joy, peace, faith, gentleness, kindness self-control and temperance.
God wants a profit from His investment because He has invested much work, time and part of His very life in us. Christ died and paid with His life.
The parable of the labourers (Matthew 20:1-16). We are hired to bring in Gods harvest. None of us can decide where we will work, because this is up to the owner (God). So we can't decide what our job is to be in God's harvest.
Corinthians 12th Chapter The Body of Christ, which is the Church is made up of many members The body has eyes, nose, feet, hands, arms, legs, and the whole body fits together. All of the parts are necessary and important. Christ works through His Body to get God's Work done.
Christ is the true vine and we are branches (John 15:1-8). God is the Husbandman. God prunes every branch so that it will bear more fruit. Without Christ we can do nothing. We cannot go where Christ does not want us to go. We cannot be fruitful, if we just decide to go wherever we want. We must go where Christ wants us to go, and leads us through His spirit.
A branch which withers and dies is cut off and thrown in a pile and burned.
A tree lives by growing. If it stops growing it starts dying. So also if we are not bearing fruits then we are dying spiritually or very sick. We need to grow spiritually.
The parable of the sower ( Matthew 13th Chapter).
We must bear fruits.
There are two kinds of fruits.
The fruits of the Holy Spirit in our personal life (love, joy, peace, faith, temperance, longsuffering, gentleness, kindness, mercy, meekness and so on).
The job which God gives us in His harvest (teacher, help, healings, supporter, nuts and bolts type of help).
This is very important and is the best way to avoid becoming apathetic and spiritually self-satisfied like those in the Laodicea Era of the Church.
God wants a profit from His investment. He demands that fruit be borne.
It is very important we financially support the Church. The teacher is useless without the students. Everyone is given a job to do according to their ability to further God's work and help bring in the harvest. The teacher is supported by a system of workers. Money is needed to rent out meeting rooms and print books or to get out the gospel. Money is needed to support the minister and this is a very important part.
Whatever your spiritual talents are they must be put to use in the Church to bear fruits for God. All jobs are important. Singers, helps, government.
Love, faith and hope, and the greatest gift is love (1 Corinthians 13th Chapter).
Matthew 7:6
- you can tell a false prophet by the fruits of their lives.
- a good tree cannot produce evil fruit
- an evil tree cannot produce good fruit
- there has to be good works.
Luke 3:9 " Every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down and cast into the fire. "
Those who are growing spiritually will be given more and more, but those who do not use their spiritual talents well will have what is given to them taken away. They will be burnt.
We are to feed the hungry, and help those who are the least and give them drink and clothes and visit them in prison. We are to help those who are the least and in doing so we are really doing this for Christ. We need to humble ourselves and help those who are in truly in need. If we are in need then we should see to our own needs, and then after our needs are met we are in a position to help others.
Those who are unfruitful will be punished by being destroyed in the Lake of Fire and be put to death forever. They will never live again.
The fig tree which produced no fruit (Luke 13:6-9). The owner talked to the gardener and they discussed the matter. So they decided to take special care of it and if it still did not bear any fruit, then they were to cut it down, because it was taking up space that could be used for one that bore fruit.
We can't produce any fruit, if we are not attached to the vine Jesus Christ.
Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
There must be good workers in our lives.
James 2:18 " Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: show me your faith without thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works. "
2:22 " Seeth thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? "
We prove our faith by our works.
We are to be doers of the word and not hearers only.
The just shall live by faith
Fruits are all borne through faith.
Christ said that whosoever would be the greatest in the Church must be the one who serves the most and best.
God the Father is the greatest, because no one serves and loves more than Him.
Christ has qualified to be our Savior, the head of the Church and to rule with all power, because no one served more than him.
None of us could have done what Christ did.
None of us can live sinless lives.
None of us would have been able to put up with what Christ had to endure.
None of us is strong enough or loving enough and giving enough.
The Sons of Zebedee asked Christ if He would allow them to sit on his right side and the other on the left in on His throne in the Kingdom. Christ said that they did not know what they asked. He asked whether they were able to drink from the cup which He had to drink from or be baptized with he baptism and they said they were able (Mark 10:35-45).
Obviously they could not have gone through what Christ did and still have remained sinless. None of us could have done what Christ did and that is why He is greater then us all. It is just a simple fact.
The work we do now in this physical life is the barometer that will determine our position in the Kingdom of God.
- the fruits we bear for God and in our personal life.
- how much we have overcome and grown spiritually.
- what do we have to work with ?
- to whom much is given much is asked (some have more ability and talents and have had the breaks in life and so more is required from them in terms of work in this life).
- some haven't been given much, but it is the quality of the works not the quantity.
The widow's mites and the wealthy men, who cast is much. She gave everything she had and so according to God's scale she gave more than them all (Luke 21:1-4).
- whomever humbles himself as a little child shall be great in the Kingdom of God.
- whosoever is faithful in that which is least is also faithful in much, and he that is unjust in the least is also unjust in much.
18H) The Trying of Our Faith - Trials and Tests Which Will Come.
Abraham is the father of the faithful. God tried his faith to see if he was really trusting in God completely (Genesis 22nd Chapter).
God wants to see if we really mean business and are sincere in our faith in Him and are we willing to rely upon him no matter what - knowing that God will deliver us.
The trying of our faith worketh patience (James 1:3).
1 Peter 1:7 When we pass the tests, our faith will be much stronger.
God is going to bring about situations in our life where our faith in Him to provide for us, and care for us will be tested. God will test our faith in Him to deliver us out of our problems or give us what we need.
2 Chronicles 32:31 God try's people to see and know all that is in their hearts. God wants to know what are really made of.
Psalms 11:4-5 God tries people and the righteous.
The righteous will be tried by God.
This is not punishment, but an opportunity to exercise faith.
Look at it as an opportunity to pass the test of faith with flying colors although this will not be easy.
Psalms 26:2 God examines His servants and try's their reins and heart. God brings about circumstances in our lives to see what exactly is in our hearts and what our thoughts are.
Jeremiah 9:7 God will melt them and try them.
Jeremiah 17:9-10 " The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?
I the Lord search the heart. I try the ruins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings. "
Little tests will come up in our ordinary life. Maybe the fellow at the gas station gives us a ten in change instead of a one and this is a test. Will we will be honest and return the money, or pocket the money and keep our mouth shut.
We are going to be tried, because God wants to see if we are really willing to trust Him.
Daniel 11:35 Many who are God's servants and who understand God will fall and this will be so that they will be purged of their sins.
God is our Father and He is going to punish and correct His children. You can count on this if you are a true child of God. This is done to purge out our sins and help us overcome our many serious spiritual faults.
Matthew 3:12 Christ will purge his floor
Malachi 3:2-3 He will refine and cleanse the Church, and purge out sins and faults so that we will be useful for Him to do more and be able to grow spiritually.
God does not tempt anyone to sin, but He does test out faith.
Hebrews 12:5-11 God punishes every child of His. Everyone of his children will be punished, because none of them is perfect and they have to be taught.
This chastisement is brought about for our own good. We are corrected so we will stop doing things which are hurting ourselves and others. God administers the punishment in love for our own good.
At the time it hurts.
After we realize it was what we needed.
If you are not punished by God then you are not a child of His.
God can use other people as instruments to punish us, or cause our own actions to boomerang. God is able and does use people, situations, politics and whatever and whoever He wants to chasten His children.
These punishments are really blessings and priceless, because many of our faults and sins, we are totally ignorant of them. Others can see them but not us. So God brings them to our attention.
Revelation 3:19
The Laodecia Era of the Church will have to be punished by Christ, because of their apathetic, self-satisfied attitude.
They will be forced to go through the Great Tribulation and many will be tortured and martyred.
We should be chastening ourselves, and being critical of our own selves and always seeing how and where we can grow spiritually. Then God won't have to punish us as severely as someone who isn't trying as hard.
The Faith chapter Hebrews 11:1-40
Many of the church leaders were killed like the Apostle Paul, Peter, James, Stephen, and others. Christ himself was crucified.
Persecuted by the governments and having to live outside of the jurisdiction of civilizations.
God's people have not had it easy
The Philadelphia Era of the Church will be taken to a place of Safety during the Great Tribulation to escape the persecution. Into the wilderness and this will be a great trial of faith.
19) The Great Tribulation
The signs of the times which would precede the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.
A time of world trouble so great that if God would not intervene then no flesh would be saved alive (only in our day and age has this become a possibility, because of nuclear weapons).
World war, global famines and pestilence, population growth, environmental deterioration, food shortage, drought, and the possibilities of disease epidemics (aids).
Daniel and the prophecy about how many would run to and fro and Knowledge would be increased (Daniel 12:4). This has been fulfilled now today.
Old Testament prophecies which show us that this Great Tribulation is coming.
This will be Satan's wrath on the earth, because he knows his time is just about finished. An act of destruction unprecedented in human history with the one behind this Satan who will work through his instruments.
There will be a Temple rebuilt in Jerusalem ( prophecy )
The Mark of The Beast. People required to have one in order to buy and sell.
- exactly what is it ?
- a number used for buying and selling
- true Christians will not take it and so this is why many will be betrayed and hate one another.
- the technology for such a thing may already exist and this was never possible before and so this is just another proof that we are living in the end times.
There will come false prophets who will deceive many.
In only our time could it be possible for these events to occur.
A very large proportion of mankind will be just going about their business as usual. It will be life as normal as ever for many just as in the Days of Noah; eating, drinking, marriages, people being born and dying, just life as normal. 1/4 of mankind will die during the famines, pestilences and wars.
The Laodicea Era of the Church will have become so apathetic, so self-satisfied and just going nowhere spiritually, that Christ has to allow them to fall into the hands of Satan. There will be a frightful persecution of the Church and this is because Christ must punish them, because they are spiritually blind, naked, and poor and miserable. To purge them they will be forced to go through that time. They will be true to God but just apathetic. They won't take the mark of the beast and so will be killed.
The Holy Roman Empire will be the instrument of Satan and these powers will be used to kill the people who are true Christians.
This " Beast " is the Holy Roman Empire a collection of Ten nations in Europe.
Satan will throw all his power behind it.
The Mark of the Beast (Holy Roman Empire)
People will be required to bow down before this emblem of the Empire, or perhaps a statue of the Beast (the human ruler or Emperor).
This power will be so strong militarily and economically that no one will be able to fight against them.
Continues for 3 ½ years.
This will be an attempt to set up a world government and people will be required to worship this " beast "
The religious leader will deceive the people.
There will be an attempt on the life of the Beast, but this will fail.
He will call fire down from the sky.
This religious leader will cause all to receive the mark and worship the image of the beast.
If anyone refuses to worship the image of the beast they will be killed.
Religious martyrdom.
The number 666 . What does it mean ?
The European Economic Common Market is making efforts to come together. Plans for more and more unity and eventual political unity. There is now a common currency.
The world conditions at this time are frightening.
Population figures - over 7,247,983, 500 people as of 2014
Many people are still hungry?
Money spent on guns is excessive.
Environmental deterioration and pollution continues.
The surge toward industrialization by the third world (China).
The very real potential for massive famine.
Mankind in general is defying nature and unfortunately is going to have to pay the consequences.
20) Interpretations of Revelation 17 - Mystery Babylon The Great
Revelation 17:2 - the people have been made drunk by the wine of her immorality.
Woman is symbolic and refers to a church- the notorious prostitute worships false gods and false Christ's and because of this idolatry of the women the people are not able to see the true God. They are drunk or in a state of disorientation and confusion.
The kingdoms of this world have been taught by this woman to worship idols and false gods. They believe that this is the proper way to worship God. This idolatry (or unfaithfulness to God and Christ) reflects itself in the politics that the Kings or governors, presidents, Parliaments implement in their countries. It reflects itself in the laws passed - the approach toward business - the educational systems. So the nations or kingdoms of the world are building their countries on the foundation of idolatry or false gods which this prostitute is responsible for, because she does not worship the true God.
Revelation 17:3 - the beast here is the Holy Roman Empire.
Revelation 17:4 (clothes worn) This prostitute does not wear clean, white linen but rather bright clothing and jewelry which is simply a reflection of the fact that she is involved in idolatry and not joined to Christ. If she would be worshipping God then she would be clothed in clean, white linen.
(Revelation 19:7-8) She would be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints (Revelation 12:1-2).
Revelation 17:4 - in her hand a golden goblet full of obscenities. This fallen woman is drinking wine dedicated to false gods and idols and false Christs.
The true Church is the woman who is faithful to Christ and drinks wine on the Passover, which is a yearly remembrance of the blood of Christ which was shed on the Passover. (1 Corinthians 11:25-26)
Revelation 17:5 Mother of prostitutes. This fallen woman worships idols, false gods and false Christs. She is not true to the one God and Jesus Christ his Son. She has prostituted herself out to idols and so therefore is disobedient to Christ.
Revelation 17:6 The woman sits astride this beast, which is symbolic for the Holy Roman Empire. This is a combination of church and state. She worships idols, false gods and false Christs, but believes that she is worshipping the true God. When the true servants of God and Christ refuse to worship the beast or go along with the state religion they are punished and in many cases killed.
The prostitute is drunk with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus, and this means she is dizzy and disoriented and confused, and believes that they and wrong and she is right. She does not understand why these people do not want to go along with the state religion as she does. All this is the result of her own idolatry.
Revelation 17:7 - bottomless pit means "the grave"
Revelation 17:8 People will wonder when they see the great miracles. They will be dumbfounded except those who are Christ's true servants.
Revelation 13:13-15 " He did unbelievable miracles such as making fire flame down to earth from the skies while everyone was watching. By doing these miracles, he was deceiving people everywhere. He could do these marvelous things whenever the first Creature was there to watch him. And he ordered the people of the world to make a great statue of the first Creature, who was fatally wounded and then came back to life. He was permitted to give breath to this statue and even make it speak! Then the statue ordered that anyone refusing to worship it must die! "
Mark of the Beast - this is simply an improved and highly efficient means of buying and selling. Everyone will have their own number and this will probably be plugged into a computer system. Transactions will not be possible unless you have a number. All people will be required to have one, otherwise you won't be able to buy or sell, and you won't be able to get a job, if you don't have the mark of the beast.
Matthew 24:9-10 " Then you will be tortured and killed and hated all over the world because you are mine and many of you shall fall back into sin and betray and hate each other."
This may have a lot to do with the trauma and problems surrounding the mark of the beast.
Those who are loyal to Christ will know what it is and refuse to take it. Others will give in and accept it. This will divide friends and cause people to betray each other. Those who won't accept the mark will not be able to buy or sell or have a job. They will have to depend on friends or family and this might cause problems for those who would harbor such people.
This will probably be just be sincere effort on the part of man to come up with a more efficient means of buying and selling, but it will get out of hand.
What is the image of the beast?
The image or statue of the beast is probably simply a flag or emblem that symbolizes the Holy Roman Empire, or it is a statue of the Emperor, who will claim to be God. It probably will be something like the swastika that the Nazis made famous. Probably on the same line, but symbolizing the Holy Roman Empire. If you don't worship it you will be killed. Or perhaps the image is that of the Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, who will claim to be God. The mark of the beast will be used to control people and force them to follow the state religion.
Revelation 17:9-10
Revelation 13:11 This is referring to a great religious leader.
Revelation 13:3
The political leader will be wounded whether through an assassination attempt or an accident we do not know. He will recover, but many people will think that he had been dead and had risen from the dead.
Revelation 17:12-13
Revelation 17:14
Revelation 17:15
Revelation 17:16 The ten horns on the beast. The ten kings and their nations or Kingdoms will eventually turn on the great whore, because they hate her. After 42 months the reign of this Empire will end. Then these Kings or nations will turn against the woman, the whore, and destroy her and her property.
Revelation 17:17
Revelation 17:18
Revelation 17:6-18
7 " Why are you so surprised? the angel asked. I'll tell you who she is and what the animal she is riding represents.
8 " He was alive but isn't now. And yet, soon he will come up out of the bottomless pit and go to eternal destruction; and the people of earth, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life before the world began, will be dumbfounded at his appearance after being dead.
9 " And now think hard: his seven heads represent a certain city built on seven hills where this woman has her residence.
10 " They also represent seven Kings. Five have already fallen, the sixth now reigns, and the seventh is yet to come, but his reign will be brief. The scarlet animal that died is the eighth King, having reigned before as one of the seven; after his second reign, he too, will go to his doom.
12 " His ten horns are ten Kings who have not risen to power; they will be appointed to their Kingdoms for one brief moment, to reign with him.
13 " They will all sign a treaty giving their power and strength to him.
14 " Together they will wage war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them; for he is Lord over all lords, and King of Kings, and his people are the called and chosen and faithful ones.
15 " The oceans, lakes and rivers that the woman is sitting on represents masses of people of every race and nation.
16 " The scarlet animal and his ten horns- which represent ten Kings who will reign with him- all hate the woman, and will attack her and leave her naked and ravaged by fire.
17 " For God will put a plan into their minds, a plan that will carry out his purposes: They will mutually agree to give their authority to the scarlet animal, so that the words of God will be fulfilled.
18 " And this woman you saw in your vision represents the great city that rules over the Kings of the earth. "
21) The Two Witnesses
Revelation 11 : 1 " Measure the temple of God, including the inner court where the alter stands, and to count the number of worshipers."
Temple - is symbolic of the Church. Measure the temple - find out how many are in the true Church - Philadelphia Era.
Revelation 11 : 2 " Do not measure the outer court, I was told, for it has been turned over to the nations. They will trample the Holy City for forty-two months. "
This is referring to the Laodicia Era of the Church, which will have to go through the Great Tribulation. They will be given into the power of the Holy Roman Empire for 42 months.
Revelation 11 : 3 " And I will give power to my two witnesses to prophecy 1,260 days clothed in sackcloth."
These two witnesses will be the ones who will get the gospel out to the whole world - as a witness. They will be clothed in sackcloth. This indicates that they will be in a state of mourning, because of the terrible things coming upon men. There will be a great loss of life and so they will be in a state of mourning.
Revelation 11:4 - two prophets, two candlesticks, two olive trees standing before God (Zechariah 4:3, 11-14). These are the two individuals especially chosen by God to work for Him to prepare the way for the second coming of Jesus Christ.
Revelation 11 : 5 " Anyone trying to harm them will be killed by bursts of fire shooting from their mouths."
If anyone tries to hurt them, all they have to do is say to these people that they must leave them alone and not bother them. If anyone tries to harm them or kill them then they will just speak and fire will come down from heaven - from the sky and burn up their enemies or electrocute them, or something like that.
Revelation 11 : 6 " They have power to shut the skies, to turn rivers and oceans to blood, and send every kind of plague upon the earth."
The two witnesses will be sent by God to warn people of the plagues which God is about to send. They will be doing only what God tells them to. God will bring the plagues but the two witnesses will announce it before hand.
Revelation 11 : 7 - the tyrant who comes out of the bottomless pit will declare war against them and conquer and kill them. They will be killed by the Holy Roman Empire. God will deliver them into its power.
Revelation 11:8 They will be killed in Rome or in Jerusalem. Christ was not crucified in Jerusalem. He was killed outside of its gates. People have thought that Jerusalem is the place of the two witnesses death, but it could be Jerusalem or Rome.
Revelation 11:9 They will lie dead in the streets for 3 1/2 days and no one will be allowed to bury them or touch their bodies. People will be so afraid of them that all will be scared to bury or touch their bodies - out of fear.
Revelation 11:10 There will be a worldwide holiday - people everywhere will rejoice and give presents to each other and throw parties to celebrate the death of the two prophets who had tormented them so much!
The people will think that it was the two witnesses who were bringing the plagues upon the earth. They will think that they were the cause of the problem and fail to realize that it is God who is really bringing the plagues.
Revelation 11:11 " But after three and a half days, the spirit of life from God will enter them and they will stand up! And great fear will fall on everyone. "
They will be raised from the dead. People are going to be very afraid, because they will know that these were really servants of God. They were not the cause of the troubles. It was God who brought the plagues upon them.
Revelation 11:12 self - explanatory.
Revelation 11:13 " The same hour there will be a terrible earthquake that levels a tenth of the city, leaving 7, 000 dead. Then everyone left will, in their terror, give glory to the God of heaven. "
People will be frightened. They will also finally begin to realize that the second coming of Christ is near and that only God could do such things.
These two witnesses probably will not be identified with any particular group of believers, but this is mere speculation.
Matthew 24 : 14 " And this gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations ; and then shall the end come."
The two witnesses will be the ones who will be used of God to get the Gospel of the Kingdom to all the world.
Revelation 11 : 1-13
No one knows who these people are yet.
This is just prior to the second coming of Christ.
They are the two pillars that stand at the entrance into the temple.
They will just be two witnesses to the fact that Christ is coming soon. They will probably not try to save anyone or to get anyone to turn their hearts to God, but this is mere speculation.
They will be also used to witness against this great religious leader and the "beast" the Holy Roman Empire. That is why they will probably be in Rome, because that will be the seat of the Holy Roman Empire and the seat of Mystery Babylon. They will witness against Mystery Babylon.
These two witnesses will probably travel all around the world.
They probably won't be great men, but this is again mere speculation.
Elijah The Prophet
Malachi 4 : 5-6 " See I will send you another prophet like Elijah before the coming of the great and dreadful judgment day of God. His preaching will bring fathers and children together again, to be of one mind and heart, for they will know that if they do not repent, I will come and utterly destroy their land. "
This is referring to John the Baptist, but the prophecy may be dual in nature. John may have fulfilled this entire prophecy.
Matthew 24 : 14 " And the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it, and then, finally, the end will come."
The Gospel will be preached and published as a witness by the Two Witnesses mentioned in the book of Revelation. This is how God is going to get His message to the whole world. These witnesses will probably not be associated with any particular sect of Christianity and they will probably not be supported by any group, but this is in no way certain.
22) Place of Safety
The Philadelphia Era of the Church is promised a place of safety from the Great Tribulation because they are faithful (Revelation 3:10).
Into the wilderness into a place prepared for her from the face of Satan, 3 ½ years (Revelation 12:13-16).
This is a place on earth and has nothing to do with any rapture (Revelation 12:13-14, 16).
There is no spiritual evidence to suggest that we will be raptured to heaven (no man is ascended into heaven, except Christ - we will resurrected or changed at Christ's return). (John 1:18 and 3:13 and 5:37) (Proverbs 30:4) (1 Corinthians 15:51-52) (1 John 4:12)
The earth helped the woman (obviously if we were raptured the earth would not have to help us). (Revelation 12:13-17 note verse 16)
It is going to be necessary that the Church have a place of safety (Revelation 3:10).
The mark of the beast - people will be required to worship the image or be killed (Revelation Chapter 13).
The place of safety must be in the wilderness, because only there will the people be able to be free to worship God. However, what does the Bible mean by the term " wilderness. " It is important not to misinterpret this prophecy. We are not talking about the church living in a cave somewhere up in the Mountain cliffs. " Wilderness " here can simply mean an isolated place.
The place of safety is on the earth and in a wilderness area (Revelation 12:14-16).
Satan persecutes the true Church Philadelphia Era (Revelation 12:13).
Two wings of a great eagle, so she might fly into the wilderness (Revelation 12:14).
To a place prepared for her (Revelation 12:14).
Serpent casts a flood out of his mouth so she might be carried away, but the earth helped the woman and swallowed the flood (Revelation 12:15-17).
23) Return of Jesus Christ
Daniel 12:2-3
The resurrection - the first resurrection from the dead.
Those who are Christ's will be resurrected.
Christ makes war against His enemies here on earth.
23a) The Millennium
Satan is put away and Christ and the saints Rule the earth for 1,000 years (Revelation 20:4-6).
One thousand years of peace, joy and prosperity.
23b) The Great White Throne Judgment
Then there will be a Resurrection of all those who never had their first opportunity for salvation - The Great White Throne Judgment Period. They will be given their one and only chance for salvation (Revelation 20:11-13).
After the 1,000 years - in the Judgment Period Satan loosed for a time and will go out and deceive the nations once again. Satan and his demon followers, plus those people who are in rebellion against God will make war once again (Revelation 20:7-9).
After the Great White Throne Judgment Period in finished the earth will be dissolved into a burning mass, something like the sun perhaps.
2 Peter 3:7 " But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. "
3:10-13 " But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. "
This earth will be dissolved and the heavens also into fire.
All the works on the earth will all be burnt.
Cowards, unbelieving, whoremongers, sorcerers, idolaters, liars and murderers will be thrown into the lake of fire - the second death.
They will not be tormented forever in hell, but will suffer the fate of eternal death.
Those not found written in the book of life will be resurrected if dead - and condemned to eternal destruction, or if they are alive at the time they will die the second death, and be burnt up and stay dead forever.Satan and his demons will be cast into the Lake of Fire and tormented forever, and ever (Revelation 20:10).
24) A New Heaven and A New Earth

The earth and heaven shall perish and God shall change them. God stays the same forever.
Isaiah 51:6
The earth shall wax old like a garment.
Isaiah 65:17 and 66:22
1 Corinthians 2:9 Our future is so great we can't even understand it.
Revelation 4:10-11 God created the earth and heavens and will give us eternal life and make us His Sons (children). He will create a new heaven and earth. It is all made for His pleasure. Those who please Him and follow Him and give Him pleasure will be saved.
Revelation 21:1,5
A new heaven and new earth.
New heavens and earth shall remain.
There will be no more sea.
There will be no more death, no tears or crying or pain because this the former things will be passed away.
God will make all things new.
We will inherit all things and be God's Children.
Hebrews 2:6-8 Those of us who are born into Gods Kingdom will inherit all things. We will inherit the new heavens and earth. The creation will be subject to us.
Naturally we will be subject to Christ and God.
God will reign supreme.
There will be peace and harmony and love.
Perfect harmony, joy forever and ever.
We will have shown by the way we have lived in this life that we are worthy to inherit eternal life.
We will have shown God that we will obey Him and be subject to Him, and so we will have overcome and passed the tests and trials of our faith.
We will have overcome and endured and grown spiritually.
We will have shown God that we will never worship anyone other that Him and Jesus Christ.
God will be able to entrust us with eternal life and great power.
He will know that we will not abuse it.
Ephesians 2:6-7
Romans 8:18-23
We shall be delivered from bondage into the glorious liberty of the Children of God.
For Gods plan for the new heavens and new earth, he needs to have His children there, before it can go forward.
24a) The Holy City - New Jerusalem
Revelation 21:2-3, 9-27
Holy Jerusalem descends from heaven.
The Bride the Lamb's Wife
A city - a 1,500 mile cube. The throne of God will be on the new earth.
We will live with God the Father. We will see God's face.
Shall reign forever and ever.
Only those who are pure and righteous will be let into the gates of the city.
There will be no night there and no need for the Sun, because God and Christ will be the light of it.
How does the glorified Christ looks like right now ? (Revelation 1:12-18)
Revelation 1:12-17 God and Christ look the same.
God's servants shall shine as the stars forever and ever, and live forever.
