Sabbath Lesson May 18, 2013 or Sivan 9, 2013
Today's lesson has to do with repentance and the need of God's true servants to always have a repentant attitude.
Luke 13: 1-5 " There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things? I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem? I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. "
Jesus Christ did not teach that all we need to do to receive salvation is believe in Him, as so many professing Christian churches teach today. Jesus Christ taught that we need to repent of our sins.
Mark 1: 14-15 " Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. "
Repentance and the need to preach repentance is part of the Gospel Commission Christ gave the church.
Luke 24: 46-48 " And He said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. Then opened He their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things. "
Oh my, oh my, here are those words about repentance once again and this is coming straight from Jesus Christ Himself. If Christ says we need to " repent or perish " - then why do so many teach the lie that all we need to do to be saved is believe in Jesus ? Many people have believed these lies and false doctrines, and genuinely feel that all they need do for salvation is believe in Jesus.
They do not understand that faith without works is dead.
James 2: 19-20 " Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead. "
James 2:21-26 " Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect ? And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way ? For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. "
In the book of Revelation Chapters 2 and 3 you will read Christ's message to the seven different phases of the true Church of God throughout the ages. Jesus points out clearly the need for these people to repent of their sins.
Revelation 2: 1 " Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write;
Revelation 2: 5 " Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
Revelation 2: 12 " And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write;
Revelation 2: 14 " But I have a few things against thee,
Revelation 2: 16 " Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.
Revelation 2: 18 " And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write;
Revelation 2: 20 -22 " Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. "
Revelation 3: 1 " And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write;
Revelation 3: 2-3 " Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God. Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. "
Revelation 3: 14 " And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write;
Revelation 3: 15-20 " I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
Repentance is essential for salvation. True Christians must have a repentant attitude, and be willing to admit mistakes and sins. This is because none of us is perfect and we need to grow up spiritually.
Acts 2: 37-38 " Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do ? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. "
In my Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible - you will find the word " repent " around 22 times in the New Testament, and the word repentance is found about 25 times.
Luke 15:10 " Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth. "
And what is sin ?
1 John 3:4 " Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. "
You can read my article on Commandments and Sins, which will give you a good idea of what we need to do and what we need to repent of. Please go to Commandments and Sins.
Also go to the article The Greatest Sin.
Genuine servants of God are also required to repent of following their old sinful carnal natures into sin. So they are to repent of being motivated by things like lust, greed, selfishness, hatred, and so on - go to Colossians 3: 1-14 and Galatians 5 :19 - 26.
Romans 8: 13 " For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. "
There is a procedure we need to follow for salvation and this is the following:
1. Repent - of our sins and of following our old carnal minds into sin.
2. Believe in Jesus Christ and believe the Gospel.
3. Be baptized.
4. The Laying on of hands.
5. Grow in grace and knowledge and produce fruits for God.
6. Overcome your sins - with Christ's help through faith.
7. Remain faithful to God the Father and God the Son forever, this is a commitment that lasts forever. Always put God first in your life now and forever.
The Blood of Christ
- Justified by his blood (Hebrews 10:1-14)
- Forgiveness of our sins through His blood (Hebrews 9:1-28)
- Christ has purchased the Church with His blood.
- Christ the Lamb of God. We are redeemed by the blood of Christ.
- The Church is to rule with Christ when He returns to reign on the earth.
- We are to have faith in His blood.
How to Receive the Gift of the Holy Spirit
1 Corinthians 1:29 "That no flesh should glory in his presence. We are saved through grace and this not of ourselves it is the gift of God. "
We are saved through faith. Faith in God and His promises. We are not saved by keeping the Ten Commandments. We are saved through Faith. However, the Law has not been done away.
- We can't earn our salvation. It is a gift of God. The faith and grace is from God. All we do is to trust God and Christ to save us. We can't earn our salvation because all (except Christ) have sinned.
Repent
- repent of our sins (Luke 13:3,5) (Mark 1:14-15) (Matthew 4:17) (Acts 2:37-38)
- repent of following the old carnal mind (Galatians 5:19) (Ephesians 5:1-17)
- symbolically crucify the old carnal nature on the Cross with Christ (Romans 6:6) (Galatians 2:20)
- walk in newness of life (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Believe
- if we disbelieve Christ we are really calling Him a liar.
- we prove our belief by doing what Christ says.
- believe the Gospel.
- believe that God's word is good - He will do what He has promised.
Be Baptized
- total immersion.
- burial in a watery grave, a cleansing ritual.
- persons doing the baptism do it in the name of Christ.
- the ceremony itself does not save you, but is symbolic of what is going on in the heart - in the spirit.
Christ is the one who baptizes a person.
- the person doing it is only doing it in the name of Jesus - it is actually Jesus who baptizes you
- only done after a person is thoroughly prepared.
- one baptism.
- a very important step that needs to be taken very seriously.
- we are to count the cost before we start.
Receive the Gift of the Holy Spirit
- laying on of hands.
- praying that the Holy Spirit might be given.
- Holy Spirit comes from God.
- a person is now a part of the body of Christ.
- no heavenly signs.
- a person feels clean.
- God is now our Father.
The time has come to start rebuilding the true Church of God in these corrupt end times. The time has come to build up the Philadelphia Phase of God's true Church.
Sabbath Lesson May 25, 2013 or Sivan 16, 2013
Today's lesson will be very short folks, since I had a hard week, and am exhausted.
We shall deal briefly with The Family and the positive environments versus the negative family environments.
We all belong to a family. We all have a Father and Mother. We also have the potential to be born as spiritual beings into the Kingdom of God - and then shall be part of God's Family.
There are many misconceptions regarding the human family. Various societies structure the family differently. For example there is the nuclear family and there is the large extended family, and on and on it goes. As long as how a society structures its families are not sinful - then there is a lot of flexibility regarding how the family can be structured. The key here is to insure the way it is structured does not violate the commandments and laws of God.
God's laws concerning the family (from the Bible) transcend the way human societies structure their families.
For example God's Laws do not approve of Gay Marriage of Gay families. God's laws do not approve of families where the Mother-in-law have authority or power over her daughter-in-law. God's laws do not condone spousal abuse. God's laws do not approve of the oppression of women within the family context.
I will stop for now and refer you to my article on family environments - go to Family Matters.
Sabbath Lesson June 1, 2013 or Sivan 23, 2013
Today's lesson has to do with the Church.
When people use the word " church " it conjures up many different images and perceptions. It depends on how you use the word as to what you mean by the word " church. "
Here is the dictionary definition:
church (chûrch)
n.
1. A building for public, especially Christian worship.
2. often Church
a. The company of all Christians regarded as a spiritual body.
b. A specified Christian denomination: the Presbyterian Church.
c. A congregation.
3. Public divine worship in a church; a religious service: goes to church at Christmas and Easter.
4. The clerical profession; clergy.
5. Ecclesiastical power as distinguished from the secular: the separation of church and state.
tr.v. churched, church·ing, church·es
To conduct a church service for, especially to perform a religious service for (a woman after childbirth).
adj.
Of or relating to the church; ecclesiastical.
This article has to do specifically the true Holy Spirit led Church of God as described in Revelation Chapters 2 and 3 and the seven different phases or eras of God's true Church specifically Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamos, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea - and how this contrasts with the false churches and false religions out there. You can also go to my article on The Church, and Church of God Doctrines and Heresy.
God's annual Holy Days show us what God is doing here on earth and shows us the schedule God is following. We are currently in the Pentecostal phase of God's schedule. This means God is only working with His true Church at this time - these are the Firstfruits. The rest of the people are blinded and do not have their minds open to the truth and are not being called to salvation at this time. Only a Few are Being Called To Salvation at This Time.
Most of humanity at this time in 2013 is blinded spiritually and cannot understand the truth. God has shut up their minds, so that they cannot understand. This is according to God's plan. They are blinded by the idolatry of Satan's world. They will be called to salvation and given their first and only opportunity for salvation when God's time comes for them to be called.
Those being called to salvation now - are being given their one and only opportunity for salvation today. You cannot understand the Bible properly without God opening your mind through the power of the Holy Spirit. Otherwise the spiritual aspect of the Bible is closed.
God works through His Church. The true Church of God is joined to Jesus Christ and God the Father through the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the bonding element in God's Family and in the true Church of God. It is very important for those called to salvation to stay away from false churches and false religions and idolatry. Please go to my articles Mystery Babylon and also False Christianity and also the importance of staying away from Idolatry, since the true Living God is a Jealous God, who will not share our affections with idols, and who demands we put Him first in our lives forever.
We are living in the end times. The time has now come to rebuild God's true church, and build up the Philadelphia Era of the Church of God. However, beware of counterfeits, and beware of idolatry. Make sure you keep focused on putting God first in your life, and following Church of God Doctrines.
Remember to follow Christ - He is the Good Shepherd. The true sheep do not follow strangers.
Sabbath Lesson June 8, 2013 or Sivan 30, 2013
The Many Positive Aspects of the Christian Faith
There are so many positive aspects of genuine Christianity. It is impossible for all of them to be listed for you, but we can just make a short list of some of the major ones.
1. Salvation through Jesus Christ. Romans 6:23 We can be given the amazing and priceless gift of eternal life in God's Kingdom. Talk about positive stuff - this is it.
2. We can receive forgiveness of sins through Jesus Christ.
Romans 5:1-11 " Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit which is given unto us. For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement. "
We can be cleansed of our sin, and cleansed of our guilt through Jesus Christ.
3. God through the Bible provides a guide to Christians for living.
2 Timothy 3:15-17 " And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. "
The Bible is complete the way it is. God talks to us and teaches us through the Bible. The Bible is the source of church doctrine, and God uses it to reprove and correct His servants. All very, very positive stuff.
4. God's laws are like a lamp on a very dark night.
Psalms 119:105 " Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. "
Proverbs 6:23 " For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life: "
And maybe you heard some nasty negative things about the supposedly mean old laws of God. When in reality the Bible teaches that God's laws as explained in the Bible are to be used as a guide to living, and helps us to know wrong from right and gives us direction.
Naturally not all of the law is still in effect, and there are gray areas of the law subject to individual interpretation.
5. Faith is a very powerful positive factor in genuine Christianity. Faith is a motivator and it can give you courage and strength to go on.
Hebrews 12:9-11 " Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised. "
God is faithful to keep His promises. The Bible is full of promises God has made. All you need do is meet the conditions God requires of you - then you can claim the many promises in the Bible. And you can hold God to His promises, if you have done everything God has asked you to do (as conditions) for receiving the promises.
Hebrews 10:38 " Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. "
The just shall live by faith, and faith is such a very positive matter.
6. Love is a powerfully positive thing and there is so much about love in the Bible. How do we love others ? There are many different viewpoints. Here are some of the major ways to do this.
1 John 5:2-3 " By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. "
One way to show your love towards God and mankind is to keep the commandments. If you love someone, you won't want to steal what is theirs, you won't make up lies about them, you won't kill them, you won't be angry with them for no reason, you won't cheat them and so on.
Matthew 22: 35-40 " Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked Him a question, tempting Him, and saying, Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. "
The Bible teaches the importance of the extremely positive motivator of love, and very positive good feeling of love towards God and mankind - including yourself.
We are commanded to love our neighbours as ourselves. So we are supposed to love ourselves.
We are worthy of self love.
There are many ways to love others.
7. We are to grow in character - righteous character, and work to overcome our faults, sins and weaknesses.
This is all very, very positive stuff. Growing in righteousness. Overcoming, with Christ's help, our faults and spiritual weaknesses.
Hebrews 12:9-11 " Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live ? For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but He for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness. Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. "
God is the Father of Christians, and He is a loving Father who teaches and disciplines His children. The purpose of the chastisement is not to see us suffer, but to teach us the vital spiritual lessons we need to learn. God corrects and punishes us for our good.
We cannot do these things on our own. We need to trust and have faith in God and Jesus Christ. Alone by ourselves we cannot do all these things. But with God's help we can overcome, and we can grow in righteous character, and with God's help we can overcome our faults, and spiritual weaknesses. It is all done through faith. It is teamwork. God alone can't do this for us, we need to cooperate with God and Christ and do our share. It is teamwork.
Christ's message to the seven eras of God's true Church in Revelations points out the importance of the very positive matter of working to overcome and explains it perfectly. This can be found in Revelation Chapter 2 and 3. At the end of every message to the seven different eras of the true church Christ refers to the necessity of continuing to overcome right to the end. Continue the spiritual struggle. Don't give up spiritually. We may not overcome everything, but we are
admonished to keep overcoming unto the end.
Christ's message to Ephesus era - Revelation 2: 7 ....to him that overcometh.....
Christ's message to the Smyrna era - Rev. 2: 11 .....He that overcometh ......
Christ's message to the Pergamos era -Rev. 2:17 ..... To him that overcometh...
Christ's message to the Thyatira era - Revelation 2:26...and he that overcometh...
Christ's message to the Sardis era - Revelation 3:5 ....He that overcometh.....
Christ's message to the Philadelphia era Rev. 3:12.....Him that overcometh.....
Christ's message to the Laodicia era Revelation 3:21....To him that overcometh...
Yes with God's help we shall overcome someday.
The genuine Christian faith is an extremely positive, life affirming faith.
Sabbath Lesson June 15, 2013 or Tammuz 7, 2013
Today's lesson has to do with the importance of obedience to God.
What has happened is that many false teachers and false churches have spread lies, and spread the false doctrine that the Law has been done away and all we need do for salvation is believe in Jesus and love one another. Too many have misinterpreted the Apostle Paul's teachings on salvation, and have therefore turned the grace of God into license to sin.
In fact I had a few years back some people e-mailed me and accused me of being a legalist, and one man actually claimed I was teaching a different Gospel and so was cursed for teaching the importance of obedience to God and His Commands. Well if I am cursed for teaching the importance for keeping the commandments then I have good company, since Christ Himself taught the importance of keeping the commandments as explained in the Bible as did the Apostle Peter, Paul, James, John - just to name a few, as well as all the Prophets including Moses.
I have already explained this matter carefully concerning salvation and the Law before, but will do so again.
It is very important to understand that we cannot earn our salvation through our own efforts to keep the law. Salvation is a free gift of God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Only through Christ and our faith in Him, can we be saved from sin and death. This is because sin is the transgression of the law (1 John 3:4), and the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23), and all except Christ have sinned (Hebrews 4:14-16) (2 Corinthians 5:21) (Romans 3:23) (Galatians 3:22) (1 John 1:7-10).
So all we earn through our own feeble efforts to gain salvation through our good works and our own righteousness of keeping the law is death, because we cannot keep the law perfectly - we make mistakes and we sin. And to make matters worse all human beings have inherited the death penalty, because of the sins and rebellion of our ancient ancestors Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 2:15-17 and 3:17-24) (Romans 5:12-21) (1 Corinthians 15:21).
We cannot save ourselves on our own - that is why we need a Saviour and that person is Jesus Christ. He is our Living Mediator and Living High Priest in heaven - Christ is not dead He is very much alive. We are saved through faith, but that must be a living faith not a dead faith. We need to add to our faith works - that confirm our faith, because faith without works is dead (James 2:14-26).
However the Apostle Paul never taught that the Law was done away, and we no longer need obey God. He just taught that we cannot gain salvation through the righteousness that comes from obedience to God's Laws, since none of us keep the Law perfectly.
Before his conversion Saul thought he could earn salvation through the keeping of the Law strictly. After he came to know Jesus - he realized that his own efforts to gain salvation through his own righteousness (by keeping the Law as a Pharisee) was not good enough, and He needed Christ to wash away his sins.
So Paul really put a lot of emphasis in his writings on the fact we cannot earn our salvation through our own righteousness, which is through obedience to the Laws and Commands of God as explained in the Bible. This is because of his own background as a Pharisee, where he had been taught salvation was through obedience to the Law. That sort of righteousness is not good enough for God the Father for salvation. It is Christ's righteousness and our faith in Him that saves us, since we cannot earn our own salvation through our own works of righteousness, since we have sinned, and the wages of sin is death.
Paul never taught that God's laws were done away. He taught that the Law was holy, just and good.
God will Judge us on how well we have followed His instructions to us in the Bible. God expects us to work to overcome our sins. God demands we repent of our sins before we can be forgiven of them through Christ's blood. God demands and commands we forsake our idols, if we want to be His servant, since God will not play second fiddle to anything or anyone.
First of all here are some hyper links to some of my other articles on the subject of sin and God's commands.
The Greatest Sin and the Greatest CommandmentCommands and SinsThe Law A Jealous GodThe SabbathChurch of God DoctrinesHeresy
Allow me now to list for you a few scriptures that show us the importance of staying away from sin and keeping the commandments.
Revelation 21:7-8 " He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. "
Here are the same scriptures, but in the New Living Translation of the Bible.
Revelation 21:7-8 " All who are victorious will inherit all these blessings, and I will be their God, and they will be my children. But cowards, unbelievers, the corrupt, murderers, the immoral, those who practice witchcraft, idol worshipers, and all liars—their fate is in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death."
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 " Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. "
Deuteronomy 10: 12-13 " And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good? "
James 2:17-20 " Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? "
Matthew 5: 17-19 " Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. "
Matthew 19: 16-17 " And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. "
Romans 3: 31 " Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law. "
Romans 7:12 " Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. "
Exodus 16:27-28 " And it came to pass, that there went out some of the people on the seventh day for to gather, and they found none. And the LORD said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws? "
I could go on and on and on. The Bible is full of admonitions by God to " turn ye from your evil ways and keep my commandments, and my statutes. "
Sabbath Lesson June 22, 2013 or Tammuz 14, 2013 by Ray Wegner
Today's Lesson - has to do with the flooding in the City of Calgary where I live, and the flooding in places like High River, Bragg Creek, Canmore, and S.E. British Columbia, but focusing on Calgary, Alberta
Flooding has been extensive in low lying areas particularly along river and stream banks and those who have chosen to build and live along or close to stream beds, and rivers. High River has been hit particularly hard, and there have been a few deaths due to the flooding. Downtown Calgary has been evacuated due to the flooding of the Bow River and the Elbow River. Most of the people have not been affected directly by the flooding, since they live on higher ground and do not live near streams or rivers.
The spiritual problem I see very clearly is the lack of humility by too many Albertans in the face of this disaster.
Instead of humility what I see is the continuance of this great overweening false pride here in Calgary, Alberta where I live. You know this should be a time for people here to be humble, and recognize the power of God and the powers God has under His control through the forces of nature. However, there is a severe shortage of genuine humility in the one of, if not the most Proudest City of Canada - Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
The right kind of pride is okay, and in harmony with God's ways and laws. We are worthy of self-respect. We are worthy of self-love, since God commands " love our neighbour as ourselves " and so we are actually commanded to love ourselves. So there is nothing wrong with taking pride in what we successfully do and in our need for self-love. There is nothing wrong in taking pride in the positive, concrete, tangible, measurable, successful and productive works we do.
The present self-esteem they teach in the schools of Alberta is totally wrong headed. So too many have been brainwashed into believing they are good enough just the way they are, and need do nothing to be worthy of self-esteem. So the works are missing. The actual, concrete, measurable, works that make one worthy of self-esteem are dramatically missing. Folks - faith without works is dead.
The spiritual problem I see is that too many Albertans and particularly too many Calgarians have a false pride, and a severe lack of genuine humility. They are proud of things that they have not done, and are not responsible for. Who put the oil and natural gas in the ground ? Did the people of Calgary do this ? Who gives us the good land and the rain for growing crops ? Did Calgarians do this ? Who gives us strength to work, and gain wealth ? Did Calgarians do this ? Who built this nation and who worked out the circumstances so we live in a democracy with so many basic human rights ? Did Calgarians do this ? Look people - start to recognize God your Creator, and start giving Him some credit.
Start to have a humble attitude, and God will bless you for it. Instead of humility all I see is this continuance of the great overbearing false pride here in Calgary. They are now bragging about their resilience, and their great community spirit. Government authorities are bragging about how they will rebuild. No mention about God and His power. Not a thought about putting away of sin. Just more false pride.
What I see in Calgary, Alberta, Canada is too much sinning, and too little recognition of God's power and God's work. The spiritual sickness continues.
They welcome foreigners, and every sort of illegal scum into their city, but treat their own born and raised law abiding citizens like garbage. They sent billions of dollars every year in transfer payments to the rest of Canada - particularly Quebec, while too many of their own people struggle and suffer financially. Yet they do nothing to address this injustice. They allow the sell out of their resources to foreigners particularly that of oil and natural gas, while their own pay through the nose for these same resources, and in the process their children are being cheated out of their inheritance. They have an annual Gay Pride Parade - and care little that God considers Sodomy to be an abomination. They reward chronic and habitual liars like Stephen Harper with great power and authority. The homeless are treated like junk. So now God has paid you back, and shown many Calgarians what it feels like to be homeless, since around 75,000 Calgarians have been displaced due to the flooding.
As for places like Canmore. You know foreigners are treated like Royalty, while born and raised Albertans are just junk.
The spiritual sickness in Alberta continues. It is time for some humility folks.
Sabbath Lesson June 29, 2013 or Tammuz 21, 2013 by Ray Wegner
Today's Lesson - has to do with the importance of obeying God's Commandmends as explained in God's Book the Bible.
The problem is that too many people have been brainwashed by the false churches and false doctrine that Christ nailed the Law to the cross, and now all we need do to gain salvation is believe in Jesus and love one another.
Beware of false teachers, who turn the grace of God into license to sin.
Beware of Mystery Babylon and all her lies, false doctrines, blasphemies and fornication.
Beware of false teachers and false religions, which worship idols, and which don't believe Jesus is the only Way to salvation.
Beware of those who have abandoned the faith once delivered to the saints, and who have descended into heresy. Go to Heresy.
It is extremely important we in the true Church of God work hard to obey God's Commandments, and stay away from all sin. Sin is the transgression of God's Law (1 John 3:45) as explained in the God's Book - the Bible. God hates sin, since it hurts the sinner and the victims of sin. Christ had to die because of sin, so He takes sin seriously and works to purge out sin from the Church.
Romans 6:23 " For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. "
You can read this writers take on the list of sins and commands as explained in the Bible.
Too many people just do not realize how seriously God considers sin to be - even the smallest of sins. Sin goes against God's will. Sin hurts ourselves and others. Sin - especially idolatry cuts us off from God, and so cuts us off from the only one who can save us, and give us salvation.
Please go to my article on Sins and Commandments.
Sabbath Lesson July 13, 2013 or Ab 6, 2013
Bible Prophecy
It is very easy to misinterpret Bible Prophecy, so it is very important to be careful and look at the context of the Prophecies, and don't jump to hasty conclusions.
Much of the Bible consists of prophecy, and the majority of these predictions are still for the future as of 2013.
All the various events that precede the return of Christ in these last days are still in the future. Like the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem, and the coming of the Two Witnesses, and the setting up of the World Government by the Beast. There is way, way more.
God also has a lot of things to say and prophecy in these Last Days about various nations like modern day Israel in Palestine, Egypt, and many more. It is very easy to get these prophecies wrong, so be very careful.
Also be very cautious not to make practical, economic decisions on false assumptions concerning prophecy. People can end up investing their life savings following false prophets, like in the recent case with Mr. Harold Camping. Over 100 million dollars was spent on advertising their false interpretation of scripture, where Camping was predicting the tribulation and rapture to happen sometime in October of 2011. It never happened of coarse and many spent their life savings. So now there are many very disappointed and disillusioned people. Also this now gives the unbelievers, and skeptics an opportunity to further mock God and the Bible.
So when studying Bible Prophecy my advice is first and foremost to be careful, cautious, and make sure not to take the prophecy out of the Biblical context. Look at the prophecy from all angles, and have a basic grasp of history, and the history of Israel. Also look to competent well versed Biblical scholars, who have a good reputation of getting it right concerning prophecy, and who teach faithfully sound Biblical doctrine. How can you trust a Bible teacher that their interpretation of prophecy is sound, when they teach all kinds of lies and false doctrines ?
Also remember that the Bible is complete the way it is. No so-called prophet has any authority to add their own doctrines to the scriptures, and then claim these teaching are from God. The foundation of God's true Church has been laid down already about 2000 years ago. The true Church of God is build upon the foundation of the Prophets and Apostles with Jesus Christ being the Cornerstone of the foundation.
Ephesians 2:18-22 " For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
If some Bible teacher comes claiming to be an end time Apostle - run from them, because they are false teachers, since we do not need anymore Apostles, since the Apostles are part of the foundation of the Church, and this was the 12 Apostles, plus the Apostle Paul. We do not need anymore Apostles.
As for Prophets, again we do understand that there will be the coming of the Two Witnesses in these Last Days just prior to the return of Christ, and they will be Prophets and will prophecy. However, they will preach the gospel for 3 1/2 years during the time of the world government. So don't believe false claims by false prophets.
Much of Bible Prophecy is hard to understand, and often we won't really be able to understand how it will be fulfilled until the predictions actually happen. There are all kinds of vain speculations by many so-called Biblical scholars. People can speculate and guess all they want, but God is the one who will keep His word in His own good time, and in His own way. We cannot dictate to God how He will fulfill His word. We cannot expect God to fulfill the scriptures the way we, or our own little group expects. We need to follow God. God won't follow us.
Sabbath Lesson July 20, 2013 or Ab 13, 2013
Today's Lesson has to do with the importance of obeying God's Commandments.
God hates sin. Jesus Christ had to die, because of sin.
Romans 6:23 " For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life thorough Jesus Christ our Lord. "
The problem is that most people, including those who profess to be Christians, do not have a repentant attitude. They want things from God, but are not willing to do what God commands of them. God to them is like Santa Claus, or a Sugar Daddy.
If you do not have a repentant attitude, and are not willing to admit errors, and sins then you cannot attain salvation.
Most people in these corrupt Last Days are in rebellion against God.
It is very simple. God gave mankind a choice. It is called free moral agency. God said to our ancient ancestors Adam and Eve (and He still says this to us today) that if they rejected God's standards of what is right and wrong, and instead chose to set their own standards of what they feel is right and wrong - good and evil - then those ways will lead to death.
Almost all of mankind in these corrupt Last Days have rejected God's rule over their lives, and are in rebellion against their Creator.
Genuine servants of God, are not in rebellion against God, and they accept God's standards of what is right and wrong, good and evil - as explained in God's Book the Bible. They are not perfect, but they try to obey, and are willing to admit errors, and sins, and are willing to work on them with God's help to overcome these faults and sins.
Sabbath Lesson August 3, 2013 or Ab 27, 2013 by Ray Wegner
Today's Lesson has to do with the Message I put up on the web on December 29, 2002. You can link to it by going to Message. Nothing has changed concerning the Message.
What I see is that almost no one takes me or the message seriously. I am ignored. Me you can ignore. I am not important. God you cannot ignore, since He is the Creator, and the Owner of the earth. God is the one who builds up and tears down nations.
Is there any proof that the Message I delivered is from God. Yes in many ways, but what bothers me is the slowness of the whole process. So in my judgment what was written back in 2002 is coming to pass, but not all of it yet, and things have been much slower to develop than I could have ever imagined back in December 2002. However, if you look at it objectively you can see it coming to pass.
I have not updated the page Message for a long time, but the basic Message has not changed at all.
What I see is that the sins of these two nations Canada and the USA continue to grow. So what I feel will happen is that the punishment will just intensify until finally these people take this matter seriously.
Sabbath Lesson August 24, 2013 or Elul 18, 2013 by Ray Wegner
Today's Online Sabbath Service has to do with the extreme level of corruption in Canada and in the USA, but especially in Canada. The highest offices in the country have become rotten and corrupt to the core. I see no future for the political entity called Canada. I wash my hands of any connection and support for such horrific corruption.
What I want to point out is the incredible level of corruption in Canada and the United States of America. Recent developments have shown very powerfully how corrupt these nations and their leadership have become, and show us very powerfully that God's time has come for these nations to be replaced. God is never pleased with sin and corruption.
To highlight the extent of corruption let us look into the recent blow up concerning homosexuality and Russian crackdown on gay rights versus Canadian and USA support of sodomy.
Russian President Vladimir Putin recently signed into Law in Russia a Law that basically is designed to protect Russian children from homosexual propaganda. The law was passed by 436 votes in favour and zero against with one abstention by Russia's DUMA, or Parliament: it is a law which bans the propagation of non-traditional sexual activities among minors. It is a law which prohibits the distribution or dissemination of homosexual acts, among children.
So like what is wrong with that ? Nothing at all. It is good to protect vulnerable children from the sodomites. It is Russian Law. They are a sovereign independent country. It is their own business.
A good number of the Authorities in Canada and the USA were foaming at the mouth in their opposition to this Russian Law, which they characterize as anti-gay and discrimination against homosexuality (sodomy). However it is an internal Russian matter. In fact it is not illegal to be a homosexual in Russia, and the age of consent is 16.
Homosexuals are protected from discrimination in Canada and the USA. I am more familiar with Canadian Law on this matter than in the USA and all of their 50 States. Different USA State governments have different approaches to this matter. Canadian and USA Law are not the same on this matter.
Regarding Canada (my home country) well you know this is Canada and that is Russia. We here in Canada have no jurisdiction over Russian Law and Russian Parliament. It is a big world, and Canadian jurisdiction ends at our borders - something our governments sometimes seem to forget.
Gay rights were read into the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms in the Constitution years ago by the Supreme Court. There was no hint of gay rights in the original charter, but the Courts simply interpreted into the Charter homosexual rights, and the government of the day did not oppose the decision, but just went along with it. Therefore homos are protected from discrimination in Canada, due to this change in the Canadian Constitution. So to reverse this would require constitutional change.
Well you know God discriminates against sodomites and this is very clear in both the New and Old Testaments. You can read my article on Homosexuality, which gives you the clear biblical teachings on this subject.
God loves the homosexual and all sinners, but God commands us to repent of our sins. Christ came to die for sinners, but Christ also expects us to repent of our sins. God will not forgive us of our sins, if we do not repent of them. God has given mankind free moral agency. So people are free to reject God and His Laws. However, there are serious consequences to this rebellion. You can never get into God's Kingdom, and never receive eternal salvation, if you refuse to give up your rebellion against God. We must repent of our sins, and work to overcome our sins to the end.
Here are a few links you can click on to read up a little on the Law in question Rianovosti and another article in Pravda - English Edition
Canadian foreign Minister John Baird severely criticized the Russian Legislation. Canadian Prime Minister Harper showing openly his support for homosexuality and his extreme displeasure with Russian Legislation protecting children from sodomite propaganda.
USA President Obama has also condemned the Russian stance regarding homosexuality and you can read about this at Politics Canada.
You and me are witnesses to astonishing corruption emanating from the highest offices of the governments of Canada and the United States. This is powerful proof of what I have been writing concerning the extent of and increase of sin and corruption in Canada and the United States of America.
This does not mean this writer suggests Canadian and Americans in the USA should start abusing homosexuals and discriminating against them here in Canada and the USA. We need to respect the law, but we are free to advocate changes to the Law. What is needed is peaceful, democratic changes to these laws. These are political matters. This page supports respect for the law and legitimate authority. However, no government and no homosexual has the right to force you to sin.
God absolutely condemns homosexuality in His book the Bible in both the Old and New Testaments - go to Homosexuality. Anyone who teaches or tells you otherwise is simply deceived about God's will on this matter or lying to you. Any Biblical Scholar worth their salt will tell you plainly that Biblical teachings in both New and Old Testaments condemn homosexuality. My role is to faithfully teach what the Bible teaches.
These recent developments show you powerfully how relevant and accurate the Message I delivered to Canada and the USA was and still is. God is always upset with sin and corruption. God is not pleased with the horrific corruption in Canada and the USA. God is the Creator and Owner of the world, and all the people and nations on it. Canada and the USA are in serious trouble with God, due to the increased sin and corruption God sees constantly in these two nations.
God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah due to their increased sins. For the proof of their destruction by fire please go to the following link Sodom and Gomorrah.
Here are some scriptures you can read from the Bible that specifically are directed towards Sodom and the sin of sodomy, or homosexuality.
Genesis 13:13 " But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly."
Genesis 18:20 " And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; "
2 Peter 2:4-9 " For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly; And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds; The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished: "
Genesis 19:1-28
The Canadian government is now claiming homosexuality is a human right, and are now promoting this corruption throughout the world. Doesn't Canada have better things to export like oil, cattle and cars - than exporting corruption and sodomy ? If things keep going the way they are in Canada will it in the future be regarded a human right in Canada for homosexuals to sodomize anyone they want ( because they claim they were born homo and can't help themselves ) like the men of Sodom gathered around Lots house demanding Lot turn over his two guests so the men of Sodom could rape them ?
When countries sink to such a deep level of corruption - they are in serious trouble with God. Such is the case with Canada and the USA.
Readers are encouraged to point out biblical errors in all of my material and writings on spiritual matters. If you can find scriptural errors in my teachings that cannot be backed up by hard, concrete biblical teachings and doctrine - then I will gladly accept the constructive criticism and make the changes needed. So please go ahead and point out my mistakes, but your criticism must not be based on mere opinion, but must be able to be proved from the Bible.
Sabbath Lesson August 31, 2013 or Elul 25, 2013 by Ray Wegner
God's annual autumn Holy Days are rapidly approaching.
Feast of Trumpets on Tishri 1 - corresponds to Thursday September 5, 2013.
Day of Atonement on Tishri 10 - corresponds to Saturday September 14, 2013.
Feast of Tabernacles from Tishri 15 - 21 or Thursday September Sept 19 to 25, 2013
Last Great Day on Thursday Tishri 22 corresponds to September 26, 2013
You can also go to Calendar and scroll down to the month of Tishri 2013 if you want.
So the weekly Sabbath Lessons from now until the end of September will all focus on these Holy Days. I will give readers the basic message regarding each Sabbath Lesson from today August 31 to September 18th.
Weekly Sabbath Lesson August 31, 2013 - Focus on the coming Feast of Trumpets which is on Tishri 1st or Thursday September 5, 2013. The Feast of Trumpets points to Jesus Christ and His second coming and the resurrection of the saints.
You can access some articles regarding the Feast of Trumpets by clicking on the following links:
God's Annual Holy Days - scroll down to Feast of Trumpets.
The Signs of Christ's Return show you various prophecies that must come to pass first.
Also go to Jesus Christ Will Prepare for His Return.
Also go to False Doctrine of the Imminence of Christ's Return
Another related matter is Rapture False Doctrine.
Also go The Place of Safety
So you can read and study these pages and also the scriptures referred to in your own Bible. You can do this on the weekly Sabbath today on August 31, 2013, and if you are keeping the Feast of Trumpets on September 5th, 2013. That is the lesson for today and for the Feast of Trumpets.
God's annual Holy Days are important, so if we can get the time off from work, or from school, or from other routine matters - we need to honour God on these days and keep these annual Holy Days. If you absolutely cannot then don't bother - you do not want to lose your job or something like that - since it is a person (Jesus Christ) who saves us - not the keeping of Holy Days. If there is no one else to fellowship with you can keep them by yourself, and God the Father and Christ will be with you and teach you and fellowship with you and be with you through their spirit - the Holy Spirit. Remember also that the way God counts the days - the days begin and end at sunset. My strong suggestion is for you to keep the Feast of Trumpets in the right spirit and God will be with you and teach you. We need the lessons God teaches.
Sabbath Lesson for September 7, 2013 or Tishri 3, 2013 and also for next Sabbath on September 14, 2013 or Tishri 14, 2013 - the Day of Atonement - by Ray Wegner
The Day of Atonement is on Tishri 10 , which corresponds to Saturday September 14, 2013 in the Gregorian Calendar. The Feast of Trumpets is over - it was on Thursday September 5, 2013.
The Day of Atonement is a day for fasting and thinking about and repenting of our sins. It points to Jesus Christ, who is our atonement lamb slain for our sins. Our sins can be atoned through the blood of Christ. The Day is also points to Christ and how he will lock up the Devil and the other Fallen Angels in the bottomless pit for a thousand years after He has returned and defeated His enemies gathered against Him at Armageddon.
Here are some articles you can read today and on the Day of Atonement next week.
God's Annual Holy Days -show us God's plan and schedule He is following here on earth. Scroll down to Day of Atonement and how to observe this annual Holyday in the proper spirit.
Satan and the Fallen Angels will be locked up for 1,000 years, then released for a little while during the Judgement Period, and then after the Judgment Period they will thrown into Hell where they will spend eternity.
The main means Satan uses to deceive people and cut them off from God is through idolatry. Please go to the article Idolatry and Idols of the Nations. When Christ returns and locks up the Devil He will abolish all idols and all idolatry.
Go to Heresy, which explains how parts of God's true Church abandoned their faith in Christ and began committing fornication with the Kings of the earth, and which gave birth to none other than
Mystery Babylon please also go to False Christianity.
MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH and the great false system she has created and is responsible for will be destroyed and burnt up when Jesus returns and sets up the Kingdom of God.
Satan is behind this deception, but God has allowed this and it fits in with God's Plan. It is part of God's plan for Satan to have His Kingdom here on this earth at this time. God has allowed the Devil to deceive the world through idolatry, and all of the false churches and false religions. Only a few are being called to salvation; at this time - the rest are spiritually blinded. However, the Devil's world, and the Devil's corrupt system is coming to an end. Jesus will return, and will lock up the Devil and His corrupt Demonic followers (the fallen angels) and will set up His world ruling Kingdom of God. This has not happened yet, but we can see it coming in the not too distant future - probably sometime in the latter part of this century - maybe sometime around 2080 or so.
Sabbath Lesson Thursday September 19, 2013 or Tishri 15, 2013 - the first day of the Feast of Tabernacles, an annual Sabbath Day part of the seven day Feast of Tabernacles, which this year in 2013 runs from September 19 -25.
Hopefully you are able to observe the Feast of Tabernacles in its proper spirit this year. In God's schedule and plan the Feast of Tabernacles points to and is prophetic of the 1,000 year Millennium period, which will be a time of universal, peace, joy and prosperity in Christ's glorious Kingdom here on earth. This is still quite a long ways into the future. To speculate - from the time Christ locks up the Devil and his fallen angel followers, and after the Great Earthquake then the Millennium period begins. It perhaps may be from around 2080 or so to 3080 or thereabouts.
I will now provide you with some links to other articles explaining more about the Feast do Tabernacles:
God's Annual Holydays - these show the plan and schedule God is following here on earth.

Sabbath Lesson for The Last Great Day on September 26, 2013 or Tishri 22, 2013
The Last Great Day points to and is prophetic of the Judgement. Christ is our Judge.
God's Annual Holydays scroll down to the Last Great Day.
John 5:26 - 29 " For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.
Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. "
Romans 14:10 " But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. "
Weekly Sabbath Lesson Oct. 26, 2013 or 20th of Bul by Ray Wegner
Summary of this years annual Holy Days - Feast of Trumpets on September 5th, Day of Atonement Sept. 14th and Feast of Tabernacles Sept. 19-25 and Last Great Day on Sept 26th, 2013. The next annual Holy Day is Passover on April 14, 2014.
I and my immediate family kept all of these annual Holy Days this year. Here is a summary of some lessons I was taught by God on these Holy Days this year.
Feast of Trumpets - From the answers to my prayers the basic message that came across to me as I am able to understand is that Christ's return is greatly delayed. This is the overall theme. Look to sometime between 2040 to 2070 or a little longer.
Why is Christ's return delayed so long ? Because of the mess the Church of God has been in during the last few decades. There has been serious problems in God's true church. There has been serious sin and idolatry and neglect.
God will not tolerate idolatry (putting something ahead of the true God) in His church. He will try to warn those slipping into idolatry, but if they are so spiritually negligent and complacent that they don't respond, or don't care about the things of God - then God will after a time reject those people. Why ? Because God will not play second fiddle to anything, or anyone. That is what I believe has happened - Christ has been forced to reject many in the church, because of their unfaithfulness - because of their idolatry. So now Christ has to rebuild.
He also has to plan for all the new people that will be born due to His delayed return. Remember God is the Creator. He plans things out - God is the Master at attention to details. We are the work of God's hands. It is His world. The earth belongs to God and everything on it. The people are God's creations. So since Jesus has to wait longer for His return then He has to go through all the extra work of planning for the additional billions of people that will be born - that He will create. God has it all planned out, but there is flexibility in His plans to accommodate unusual circumstances.
So Christ in my judgment is short of the number of saints He needs to set up His world ruling Kingdom of God. The true Church of God needs to be rebuilt. It appears to me that Christ needs 144,000 Saints to fill the positions He has in His Kingdom. Let us speculate and say He is 77,000 short. Well how can He set up His Kingdom, when there are so many positions that have not been filled ? His return is therefore delayed due to lack of interest by too many people in doing God's work. Due to failure of too many people in the church to stay strong spiritually and produce fruits for God. Due to the fact many in the church have fallen into idolatry and have had to be rejected. God works through human instruments, but too often these instruments do not meet God's expectations, and turn to sin and idolatry. So Christ has had to alter plans and His return is therefore very, very, very slow coming.
Therefore look for the coming world government controlled by the Beast to be greatly delayed. It is still coming, but look for the movement towards one world system controlled by man (really Satan) to greatly slow down. Already there are deep cracks showing in European unity.
Sometime between 2040 and 2070 is my best estimate, and it might even be closer to 2080. Around 2070 is my best educated guess. This is still 57 years in the future. A lot of things can happen in 57 years. Look for tremendous advances in technology, particularly regarding computers and robotics. Already we have drones being used in the military. Can we even imagine what the world will look like in 57 years ?
For those of you who are older just think back to 1956, which was 57 years ago. TV was just starting. Many never even had electricity or telephones yet. Horses were still used extensively in farming in Canada. Most people lived in the country. The personal computer was just a thing of science fiction. The bar code wasn't even invented yet.
Now try to look ahead 57 years. Where is the world headed ? There may be some entirely new thing like a new technology maybe or new political structure come up that no one expects. God is the Creator and a genius one at that, and Christ's return is delayed, so perhaps look for God to fill in this extra time with something the world could never expect.
Day of Atonement
The thread is one of repentance of our sins. Christ made atonement for the sins of the Church. The church is in a mess in these corrupt Last Days. Jesus Christ is frustrated and angry with the mess and the cause of it and with the subsequent delays. The church needs to be cleaned up. Christ is upset with the increased corruption in Canada - very upset and angry.
Matthew 25:1-13 " Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five of them were foolish. They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh. "
Did you read this " While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. " This parable seems to point to the delaying of Christ's return.
Feast of Tabernacles 2013
I and my immediate family traveled to Ontario to keep the Feast of Tabernacles this year in and around the Lake Superior area. This is where I felt God's Spirit was leading us to observe it this year. The plan and schedule carefully drawn up before was to be in Pancake Bay Provincial Park Ontario for the first day of the Feast of Tabernacles on Thursday Sept. 19th. I was to then stay there for a time and then travel to Sault Ste Marie, and then East through Sudbury and to North Bay and then up towards the Timmins area, and then back around towards Thunder Bay.
So we packed things up, rented a car and left Calgary, Alberta, Canada for the Province of Ontario. Some of the workers at the rental agency here in Calgary were late for work, so this was just the beginning of the delays to my plans.
We left Sunday morning September 15th, and drove down to Grasslands National Park in Southern Saskatchewan, which is South of Swift Current and just North of Montana along the border. I learned a lot and found I have a lot of false perceptions of Canada. Shaunavon and surrounding area is an example. I was surprised by how rich the land was around Shaunavon, and how lush the crops were. A very fruitful land. Was expecting dry prairie. It is like a fertile oasis. We are commanded by God to be fruitful in the church and help bring in God's harvest.
Grasslands National Park was beautiful, and I loved the sweet smell of the prairie grasses. It was late in the summer season, so most of the grass was mature and brown, but there were some late blooming flowers. Very friendly caretakers there. Only one other camper, but we were the only ones tenting. Stayed one night. The wind was already strong and from the South, but not too cold. Heard the coyotes howling in the distance. The crickets were still active and playing their music. The church is to be protected in the wilderness during the time of the world government.
Monday Sept. 16th Left Grasslands National Park and the goal was to reach Whiteshell Provincial Park in Manitoba that evening to camp out. Whiteshell is right on the border with Ontario, but in Manitoba.
On the trip that day along Highway 18 going East again my false perceptions were exposed. There is a lot of good farmland in the far Southern part of Saskatchewan - much more than I had assumed. We stopped at the village of Glenworth to shop and for a coffee in the Hotel Restaurant. Very friendly people and a very well cared for town. There were many more hills that expected along the way. I had just assumed that part of Southern Saskatchewan was like the land to the North along the Trans Canada Highway - flat prairie. Not so. Very many hills and quite rugged. Some of the towns are dying with shop windows boarded up. We went though various hamlets and villages like Mankota, Rockglen and Corohach. Estevan is a booming dusty industrial city with lots of oil wells in the surrounding area.
In Saskatchewan it is Highway 18, but in Manitoba it is highway # 3, and one stretch had huge pot holes in it. I drove on and on and was all ready to drive long into the night to keep on schedule and reach Whiteshell to camp out. The schedule previously worked out was to be at Sleeping Giant Provincial Park in Ontario on Wednesday Sept. 18th.
Well my poor wife could go on no longer and started protesting, so I was forced to stop at a Motel in Killarney, Manitoba. We lucked out (or God was helping us) and got a very comfortable quiet place to sleep. Turned the TV on and heard the story of a black man in the USA Capitol Area gunning down and murdering 13 people. Violence, corruption, and racism. Leave early next morning
Tuesday September 17th My trip was now delayed and my schedule in ruins. Also when I rented the car they told me it needed an oil change - probably somewhere around Winnipeg. So I needed to find a place to change oil. More delays. Later on it got me to thinking about Christ's plans and His schedule for His return. Has Christ had to change and delay His return due to problems and delays along the way ? Anyways unforeseen situations were conspiring against me, and I now knew my first drawn up schedule would be impossible to keep. Christ's return is delayed, because He must work through human beings, and many of these folks are very weak.
I drove on through Southern Manitoba. A very fertile, rich farming country. Farm after farm on the flat rich prairie. The towns we drove through seemed to be mostly all very well cared for and prospering. Stopped at Morden, Manitoba, which is a central hub for agriculture. They have an experimental farm there. Took some pictures of the abundant canola crop right by the town.
Kept going and got to Winnipeg. Did not stay long and headed East. Got to Kenora where a helpful man at the GM dealership looked at the car and pushed some buttons and told me I still had 14 % left in the old oil before needing an oil change. Very helpful. We stayed at Willows Kenora Campground just East of Kenora. It was windy and close to the highway, but had a good sleep. On our way we had encountered a very strong warm South wind starting in Saskatchewan. It blew steady and strong for almost three days straight.
Wednesday Sept. 18th. We left Willows Campground early headed South on the Trans Canada, but on the leg of it that goes South (# 71) along the Lake of the Woods. One lesson God taught me on this trip is that many of my assumptions and perceptions are inaccurate. I had assumed the trip would go faster, but it was very slow. The speed limit in Ontario on the Trans Canada is only 90 km per hour. Also we had to turn our clocks ahead due to the Time Zone change. So I kept losing time, and falling further and further behind. We were supposed to be at Sleeping Giant Provincial Park before the beginning of the first day of the Feast of Tabernacles, but it was going to be a challenge to make it.
Was very surprised to see farmland in the SW corner of Ontario. Had assumed it was all rocky, and heavily forested and unsuitable for any agriculture, but was wrong again.
Stopped at Fort Frances a border town. Met some people. Was told the people of Fort Frances did a lot of cross border shopping, because they can save money in the USA. One lady told me that the merchants in Fort Frances want Canadians to shop local, but the locals can save a lot of money shopping in the USA - so naturally they do. She was quite down on Canada.
Kept going, but it was getting very late. Got to Thunder Bay and did some shopping and headed out for Sleeping Giant, and ran into construction delays. It was now getting dark when I got to Sleeping Giant Provincial Park, and we had to set the tent up on the annual Sabbath - the first day of the Feast of Tabernacles. I was supposed to have had everyone at Sleeping Giant on time, so they could do all the work of setting up camp before the Sabbath. So this was my fault, but circumstances conspired against me.
I ran over a squirrel as I entered the park after the sun had set and the Feast of Tabernacles had already begun. I felt sorry for it. Had I not been driving so fast and speeding he would have escaped the wheel. Our lives are only temporary. We have no permanent home in this world. Also saw a porcupine along the road. He was slow like me.
Thursday Sept. 19th First Day of the Feast of Tabernacles.
That night in the tent it was extremely dark, and very, very still. I could hear the silence. At the beginning of the Millennium it will be very quiet, because most of the people will have died, and mostly only the animals will be making noise. So dark and quiet it was. I heard the howling of a distant wolf pack and the call of a loon.
It began to rain early in the morning. I warned the girls about the coming rain, and we quickly got the tarp set up over the tent. The rain pounded down very hard. The thunder was deafening and the lighting was very scary at times. They don't call it Thunder Bay for no reason. That powerful South wind had brought the storm and the warmth. The rain pounded down. It would let up for awhile, but then come again. The storm clouds just kept rolling in, but it was very warm. We got three inches of rain in one day. The Ranger lady told me the amount of rain they got was very unusually heavy. The tent held out the rain perfectly.
Funny you know. The night before while setting up the tent my daughters were planing on staking the tent into a flat kind of hollow area. I noticed a slope and suggested they put it there, so we could sleep better. I had no idea it would rain so hard the next day. So the tent was on a slope and we had good drainage. God was helping us.
God is the Creator. God creates the rain and the lightning and thunder. I had noticed that prior to this storm hitting us my daughters (especially the younger one) and even my wife were having rather bad attitudes. They were not praying and not helping much. After the heavy storm they seemed to be much more humble. I was not too worried, but was really impressed by the magnitude of the rain. I had deliberately chosen a camping site where there were no huge trees nearby. The trees near were smaller, and very healthy so there was no danger about a tree breaking or falling on us or our tent at night. The huge trees in the park protected us from the powerful winds, but you could hear it howling through the tree canopy very strongly.
The deer at the park were very tame and friendly. When we first got there a young male white-tailed deer came right up to us. Seems like campers have been feeding them. The friendly deer did not worry us. The one came right up to me very close and I could almost pet it, but is screwed its face up strange and got a good whiff of me, but did not seem too pleased with my odour and sort of shock its head. There were female deer with fawns - one had twins - they came right up very tame to our campsite. I also saw a skunk one night. There were red squirels and chipmunks, and chickadees, and flickers and more yet.
Friday September 20th. We stayed home on Thursday, but went to Thunder Bay on Friday. We enjoyed ourselves and I was able to get the car oil changed. Discovered that Thunder Bay has a strong Finnish heritage. Met a friendly lady with a German background who gave us tips and directions. Saw a lot of very pretty women and girls in Thunder Bay - must be due to the heritage of the people. I observe the people while traveling and did notice a subtle difference in the people like with those in Manitoba, compared to those in Saskatchewan and in Ontario. I could detect the French heritage and breeding of the people in Sault Ste Marie. There is definitely a unique Manitoban look. You can see it. The differences are there but sometimes quite subtle. For example I noticed the Minnesota look to some of the people I saw at Fort Frances, which is of coarse just North of the USA State of Minnesota. The blondish curly haired appearance was quite distinctive.
Many lessons were taught me by God that day. God always teaches on these days, since the Holy Days belong to God. It is His time, and His Holy Days, so you can expect God to speak to you and instruct you on these days, if you keep them in the right spirit. However, hopefully He won't have to speak to you so strongly through the thunder and lighting as He did with us. It is scary.
On the way back from Thunder Bay I took a very rough and rugged road up, up, up on the western edge of Black Bay Peninsula in Sleeping Giant Provincial Park. We could see Lake Superior and the city of Thunder Bay way in the distance. Very scary lookout, but no danger of falling down, since it has very secure guard rails. This lookout is up on the sheer cliff, maybe 500 to 600 feet above the trees and water. You can hike further up to steeper and higher places, but we had no time for that.
Sabbath Sept. 21 Kept this at Sleeping Giant. A sort of blustery day, with the sun poking out occasionally. Quite cool and rather chilly, except when the reluctant sun poked out its shiny warm face from among clouds. The plan was to leave next day for Pancake Bay.
Sunday Sept 22 - 4th Day of the Feast of Tabernacles We awoke at 4:00 AM and broke camp and packed up. Were out of there by 5:00 AM. Stopped at the 24-7 Husky that is a bit East of the Sleeping Giant turnoff on the Trans Canada for a rest and for breakfast. This Husky was a life saver for me. Drove on Eastward stopping occasionally along the way, like at Marathon.
Got to WaWa and stopped at the Columbia Restaurant for lunch. We ordered our meals and were amazed at the huge plate and huge portion and the low cost compared to Calgary. If I had not been so hungry I would have not been able to finish that meal. Very interesting place with some taxidermy and paintings by a very talented local artist.
Along we went and we gets to Pancake Bay later on Friday, but with plenty of spare time to find a campsite and get set up. We found a perfect place. It was very pleasant and a sunny location right next to the beach. Pancake Bay is close to the Trans Canada Highway, so there is noise at night. However, we got probably the quietest campsite available, and the big trucks rumbling through at night never seemed to bother this light sleeper much. I rented out a site with electricity, so was able to plug in our heater, and we were warm as toast during the cool nights.
Monday Sept 23 - 5th day of the Feast of Tabernacles.
A pleasant quiet day mostly at the campsite and on the beach. The tree leaves were turning colour and very pleasant.
We went down to the local stores along the Trans Canada namely Agawa Indian Crafts, The Canadian Carver and The Campers' Store and bought some things. Very interesting stores along the highway. Very rich cultural experience. I was able to buy a belt made in Canada at a good price, and I really needed one. Also got some wine and it cost less than most wine in Calgary. My one daughter bought a coyote pelt. The other bought some smoked salmon.
At night high tide on Lake Superior or Gichigami. This name Gichigami is Ojibwe in origins and means "big water." The waves were crashing very strongly on the beach, and the sound of the waves almost drowned out the noise of the occasional big truck rumbling through in the middle of the night on the highway. Very pleasant experience. This is a vast lake, like an inland sea. God is the Creator and He made that lake. I felt very happy and blessed to have seen it, and hear its waves and feel how icy cold it is. Very powerful lake. It even seems to create its own weather and a sort of micro-climate all its own, due to its immense size and power.
Tuesday Sept. 24 - 6th day of the Feast of Tabernacles.
Day trip to Sault Ste Marie. Very educational and interesting. Saw the locks and the St Mary's River. Spent some time at the Marina. Got back to the campsite early and just rested and enjoyed the beach. The water in Lake Superior is very cold. I tried to swim in it, but the water is too, too cold. The beach at Pancake Bay is beautiful however. I walked a lot in my bare feet. Very good sand, and warm, since the beach faces South and Westerly.
Wednesday Sept. 25 - 7th and last day of the Feast of Tabernacles.
We got up very, very early in the middle of the night and broke camp and packed up. Had to be at Willows Kenora Campground by sunset, since the next day was the annual Sabbath the Last Great Day. Got to Thunder Bay early and headed on up Trans Canada 71. Past Thunder Bay a bit we hit low lying boggy land. This was very surprising to me. There was muskeg and the land is rather flat, without much rock. This is a very mixed landscape with a variety of trees growing. This is a very heavily treed, varied and mixed environment, and once again my assumptions and perceptions of the country I had held previously were completely wrong. Amazing how often I am wrong. Helps one to have a humble attitude.
I drive on and on - it is a big country. Stop at Dryden for a rest and coffee. We enjoyed the Tim Hortons coffee all during our trip. Was shocked to find farms around Dryden. Not too many like in Southern Manitoba, but farms nevertheless. We stopped at a sheep farm, where they have a store, which sells all kinds of woolen products. I bought a tanned sheep hide. The name is Egli's Sheep Farm & Animal Park.
It was a very long trip from Pancake Bay to Kenora, but we make it on time, but not much to spare. We find a spot to camp and set up the tent quickly. The sun sets and the Last Great Day begins.
Last Great Day Sept 25th 2013.
We had an uneventful time. Mostly just rested and we of course had a Bible Lesson. We had a Bible Lesson almost everyday during the Feast of Tabernacles and of course on the Last Great Day.
I was able to burn up most of the candles I brought along. This day points to the Judgement Period.
Sept 26th The Drive Home to Calgary
The Last Great Day ends at sunset around 7:30 PM. We pack up and leave. It will be a long drive. It is a big country. I joked to my poor old wife that tonight I will be a truck driver, and she should sit beside me and let me feel............. Anyways it was my night to be like those long haul truckers, who travel mostly at night. I drove for about 20 hours stopping from time to time. We stopped at Regina for breakfast. Amazingly I was able to find quite easily the only 24-7 restaurant in the city. Also stopped at Swift Current for a break and a nap. Also stopped at Medicine Hat to go shopping.
We got home to Calgary around 5:00 PM Friday, and had all day Saturday and Sunday to rest and prepare to go back to our day jobs.
God taught me a lot more than I have written here in this lesson - very much more. However, some of these lessons are very personal and deal with personal matters, so I feel it is not appropriate to bring them up.
If you keep God's annual Holy Days in the right spirit God will speak to you and teach you. It is guaranteed. The only problem is that many people do not want to hear what God has to tell them, so are not prepared to listen. We need to swallow our pride, and humble ourselves before God and be willing to admit sin and error, and be willing to listen to what God has to say. You can never go wrong with that sort of attitude.
